Do I need viagra?

Do I need viagra?

Last night I was starting to have sex with my wife. I had an erection then while she was giving me oral I started to lose my erection. Every once in a while I have this happen. I just had sex with her 2 days ago and I was fine. It’s like my the blood just doesn’t stay in my penis no matter how much I kegel. But I truly think it’s mental because I get real anxious when I realise my cock is going limp.
I have a several questions. 1) How many of you get occasional ed? 2) How many of you use viagra? 3) Can viagra be addictive and can you build a tolerance to it? I really don’t want to get the point where I always need to take it because I seem to only occasionally have problems. 4) Do you think an overworked pc muscle can lead to ed? Last night my ligs were kind of sore and my pc muscle contractions felt sort of weak.

thanks for listening guys

jaj,

Think this is a mild case of performance anxiety, which is a term I personally don’t like because it sounds quite flippant. Most of us probably experienced the occasional problem with this even in long terms relationships.

You need to avoid stressing about it, you’re right its in the mind. Are you having a particularly stressful time at work or home? Or are you worried about your wifes feelings toward you or you to her? It can be difficult to relax and enjoy if you are carrying worries.

The penis has such a good ability to think on its own, that it can sometimes be confusing when our brain imposes its worries.

Here’s viagra overview but I don’t think you need it.

Here’s a good thread on how we are wired.

I don’t think kegeling will cause a problem.

I have the same problems occasionally when getting head. I just take control and tell her what to do to get me hard again. Don’t be shy- you both benefit :)

good point 2. ceding control can be a cause in itself and taking it back the solution.

btw are you back full time now?

m

Nope, still 1 more week of ‘rest’ (=no hanging)

No, Viagra is not addictive. But it can be a very easy way to get over performance anxiety.

If you find that you are losing erections more frequently than you want to deal with, do yourself a favor; make an appointment with a good urologist, one with a special interest in diagnosing and treating ED. These events of yours could be just a fluke, or stem from some treatable organic cause.

avocet,

I think Viagra can be pyshcologicaly addicting. KInda like the mind induced ED.

jaji,
I just got a new script after having done without it for 3 years, I went to a walk-in clinic and they referred me to another group of doctors (kind of like a clinic too) but had no problem getting it. Cost for the “exam” was $88, besides the normal questions the only thing they actually did was check my blood pressure.

As far as a tolerance I think the reverse is true. If I have taken it the last 24 hours I need less of it. Since you don’t have a major ED problem do what I do (if you decide to take it) I crush a 100mg tablet and split it 4 ways. Then i either take it (25mg) under the tounge and let it disolve or snort it.

My ED is induced more by nicotine from smoking more than anything else and I am working on cutting down.

hey jaji,

I have just actually recently gotten over the first “real” case of ED I have ever had in my life. By real, I mean one that last more than one occassion over a short period of time.
If anything that happened to me can help you please go and read the thread by Sean under INJURIES/ERECTION PROBLEMS (my info and solutions are all on page 2 but there is a lot of helpful related info on the first page).
I am sure that PE contributed but there were many other factors as well. I also spoke to my doctor about it and he did recommend Viagra as a “confidence booster” only (maybe use it once or twice). My girl did want me to have anything to do with that until we exhausted other possiblities. For me things did work out without Viagra and it really is only a solution (in my opinion) for chronic sufferers of ED. If you have a real physical problem you should see a doctor anyway.
There is a lot of information on the Web about ED and it’s causes, but I really think that most of it is a combination of psychologic and habitual problems.
If I can help any more, don’t hesitate to ask.
