The more I read what Big Girtha was doing when hanging the more I think he wasn’t moving up slowly. I definitely have soreness but he is talking about having blood on his hanger.

It looks like he was doing clamping and maybe even pumping during the same time period and I believe he was pushing to hard on the hanging also. The problems that he describes sounds intense.

I have read where he and his urologist believe the Bib caused damage to his urethra but it seems like he takes PE to almost an obsessive level.

I have always been warned about not doing heavy girth work and I have seriously been thinking about just doing it and disregarding that warning. Now I am back to debating the girth work for the time being.

Yeah, after I posted my last post I thought about exactly that. Big Girtha pretty much always took an EXTREME approach to PE. I figured this was probably the cause of most of his problems.

I read through the thread and it was an interesting thread overall. I wasn’t agreeing with Big Girtha in regards to the Bib Hanger and internals. I kind of went off on a tangent because it was almost fascinating seeing how obsessed Big Girtha became with PE.

It was a good thread, and I think vac hanging has its place, but I think it’s status as a middle ground between extenders and hangers limits it in several important ways.

First of all mechanically, the vac hanger just can’t reach the high levels of force and applied stresses a compression hanger can.

Second, in terms of practicality, you can’t walk around hanging moderate weights all day, you are pretty much still confined to a hanging station, this is not the case with an extender.

I don’t, however, think vac hangers are ineffective, but to maximize time or maximize stress, they are not the top choice.

I think it was Bib that said he made his best gains between 10 and 20 lbs. I’m up to around 13 pounds with the LG and I’m finally close to reaching fatigue. I was up to this weight years ago with the Max-Vac once I learned to tape my glans. The maker of the LG had tested it up to 25 lbs and I’m sure with the right taping and perhaps stronger sheaths that number could climb even higher. Not to mention the ability to hang longer than 20 minutes. I can get a 60 min set of constant tension in the same time that it would take someone with a traditional hanger to hang 2.5 sets. I wouldn’t underestimate the capabilities of vacuum hanging. If you’re talking monkeybar’s hangers or TheGrips that aren’t built to add extra vacuum or have strong sheaths built to last then you have a point but thankfully there is 100x better out there now

I believe Bib got the majority in the 17 to 20 pound range. However, he has gone way past that also.

I am hanging again at 10 pounds since I took the summer off. However, I have been up to 17.5 pounds in the past. Thinking back to when I was only hanging 5 pounds I realize how I am not that far from 25 pounds.

I know there are some individuals who never need to go beyond 20 pounds. However, we are all different and there are some people that don’t even have any gains at close to 20 pounds.

I would hate to switch to a different method and max out at 25 pounds not achieve the gains I want and then have to go back to a Bib and start over again. Even though the ligs and certain areas might be used to 25 pounds of force I know first hand that my skin and the underlying soft tissue is my weakness and there is no way I could switch to a compression hanger at those weights from zero. Again everyone is different but I know how my skin responds when I take any time off.

As of right now I haven’t seen any pictures of anyone hanging or even claim to hang higher than 25 pounds. For as expensive as the LG is I don’t want to only get limited use out of it. I have looked at the hanger and I was very tempted to pull the trigger.

Just for $300 I would need to know it would be my last hanging product and I can’t say that with confidence.

13 pounds is achievable with Monkeybar’s vac hanger, but not much more. You will just have to see if the LG will be able to hang that much weight (upwards of 25 pounds). I think the other problem with vac hangers is, however, that the amount of vacuum required to attach big absolute weights becomes impractical from the standpoint of fluid retention and tissue trauma. There is really no way around this issue. Maybe a water filled vac hanger could be developed… If you can hang 25 pounds with the LG before the device fails mechanically, but to get there you have to increase the vacuum to a level that can only be tolerated for 20-30 minutes, then this really defeats the purpose. At least in my eyes.

This page refers to the vacuums required to hang different weights. At 17 pounds the dude is talking about the vacuum increasing to 15 in-hg negative pressure! That is a pretty damn high vacuum, definitely not one anyone should tolerate for an extended period. And that is at 17 pounds! What vacuum would be needed for 25 pounds?!

With wrap and tape right I have gotten to a point where I will get absolutely no fluid buildup. The tape and wrap acts as a second skin and takes the pressure of the vacuum. The plus side is a much easier learning curve, more comfortable hang and no numbness or possible nerve damage. I realize it’s possible to hang safely with either hanger. They both have their pros and cons but to me the vacuum way is worth the price for being comfortable and being able to hang longer which for me personally makes it easier to get my hang time in on a very busy schedule

I totally understand the comfort thing. Plus there can be a tough learning curve with the Bib.

I don’t think the ultimate hanger has been created yet.

My concern is just like an extender a point comes that time under tension won’t be enough if enough force isn’t applied. Don’t get me wrong many people it might not be an issue with either there physiology responds well to it or they have reasonable desires that an extender or vacuum hanger can meet. Regretfully my goals are probably not reasonable and I probably am going to require more than 25 pounds of force.

I would really like to see someone hang 13 lbs with the monkeybar’s hanger. I couldn’t hang past 5 lbs and I would lose pressure and have slippage problems every 10 min. That’s the reason I invested in the Max-Vac because the added vacuum keeps the hanger on and prevents slippage which will cause blisters in itself.

From what I’ve heard it’s 5 mmHg for 5 lbs and under and then add 1 mmHg per pound until 15 mmHg and then you keep it at 15 mmHg until 25 lbs. As expansion packs the tube I’ve heard you get to a point where you can no longer add anymore pressure. There of course I’d still some conditioning the tissues must go through with added vacuum and weight even with wrap but as most know you go up slowly in weight and time.

This sounds close to what the LG Hanger dude was prescribing for pressures in that link I provided, but he was talking about how when the weight is applied the negative pressure spikes and stays much higher. This makes sense as it is basically the same process as pulling out on or “milking” a regular pump cylinder which causes a vacuum spike.

And I know fluid retention can be kept to a more manageable level through the use of water, wrapping, sleeves, condoms, etc., but I don’t think fluid retention is the only thing which makes very high vacuums undesirable. The glans, however, is a much more elastic structure than the remainder of the penis, but I still wouldn’t feel comfortable applying a vacuum that high to any part of my unit for an extended period. I mean you certainly wouldn’t want to have your glans at a 15+ in-hg vacuum for multiple hours, and this is really the best way to utilize a vac hanger (significantly longer individual hangs than with a compression hanger, that is).

Note, I think vac hangers can definitely work. They allow a moderate absolute weight and moderate absolute time, but extenders and compression hangers allow you to each maximize one variable or the other technically without limit. That is, vac hangers cannot truly maximize either the time-dependent variables or stress-dependent variables of tissue deformation, but offers a blend of the two where both parameters have limitations. One more way to put it, I think they offer the greatest versatility so far, and that makes them a “jack of all trades, master of none.”

Personally, I have found the best application of a vac attachment to be with static stretching where stress is really not that important and steadily decreases as the stretch is held. In that scenario, they essentially allow unlimited time to perform static stretching. This is how I use my vac hanger.
