I have never used a bath mate, but it does not look like it creates enough negative pressure to merit using a gauge. It looks to me like between the viscosity of the water and the mediocre pumping system you could not get more than 2-3 hg at absolute max, which I doubt is enough to hurt anyone.

Am I totally wrong? I guess I should try one before I form an opinion, but that is just what I think - and yes, the only real appeal in this thing is its simplicity.

Yes! In my early days of water pumping I tried a highish ‘vacuum’ and got some nasty blood blisters.

Psst! The link is at the bottom of the page :bigwink:

Bathmate seems like an interesting tool though.

Well, there is a built in safety in the Bathmate that most pumps do not have; because of the nature of Rubber, it gradually releases pressure and in conjunction with your penis filling with blood, that also lessens the intensity over a 3-5 min. period. (Thats why, its recommended to re-pump every 5 min. or do).

Jotted down your comment that the appeal is in the simplicity of the product. My file is getting very bid!

Kind regards,

That is common, but the doctors the company has consulted with have said that should be expected if the user “over does it” — but I am on the opinion that every cock is different, both in tolerance and sensitivity. No matter how hard I pump the Bathmate on my private parts I have never been able to replicate these problems personally.

Dear all,

To get the most accurate results form the poll, I really was hoping for 100 answers or so; that would give me enough data to bring it to John and push this forward for users that want the pressure meter on the unit itself.

I think I still will buy the bigger version (Goliath or something like that) since the regular one I bought several months ago is too small now, but yea, they really need that gauge.

Yeah having a pressure gauge can’t hurt it will only help. The length marker is helpful but by having the gauge as well a user will be able to really fine tune their bathmate sessions to maximize results, you can’t really go by feel because the pressure that will feel good could change from one day to another, and this makes overdoing it and getting injured more likely if you aren’t experienced with pumping.

Very leery of the bathmate

I have been using the bathmate for a week now and just don’t get it. My penis feels bruised after using it. I have this hot, burning sensation and penis looks more reddish than normal. I have had this feeling since I started using the bathmate. It does not go away after a few minutes or hours. I think this is probably caused by too much pressure, even though it does not feel like a lot of pressure when I am using it. Makes me wonder just how much pressure I am using. I think this could be a very dangerous device because it has no gauge.

I just stopped using it as of last night as it just does not seem healthy to have this hot burning sensation in my penis and this darker reddish color. Also sometimes feel some pain. I did not have this problem when using an air pump with a gauge.

Also, it seems it is easier to pump up larger with an air pump.

With an air pump, one can see just how thick the penis is inflating. With the bathmate, the water seems to distort light and make the penis appear much larger inside the pump than it really is.

I really hope the problem is that I am using the pump incorrectly, otherwise I just wasted my money on the bathmate.

As much as I’d love to say it’s the bathmate that’s causing these things. It sounds more like a cream or lubricant that would cause what you’re describing.

Size is little more than a controllable perception without an accurate means of measurement.

Indeed it has; and I’m bothering the hell out of John to get that done! :)

Air pumps have it advantages, but the Bathmate is designed for safety. You might want to slowly increase the pressure and not over do it as I call it. Then again, each penis is different in tolerance.
