This is the official start of my PE journey. My dream is to attain a girth of 5.6” - any length gains will be a bonus!

It’s easy to think about the future and the possibility of dry jelqing, ULI #3s, clamping, etc. For now, however, I’m going to see how much progress I can make with as little intensity as possible. With that in mind, I’m starting with J123’s Linear Newbie Routine.

10 minute warm-up with IR lamp
20 wet jelqs (with IR lamp)
10 minute warm-down with IR lamp

I’m pretty happy with how this went. I feel as though I had a sufficient warm-up and warm-down, and I made sure to do slow jelqs.

Some aspects were a little tricky - I’m not certain I reached the suggested erection level for jelqing or that I was jelqing from the base of my penis. It’s tempting to say, “Maybe I should do a few more jelqs with a better erection level or technique,” but this was my first ever workout. There’s plenty of time to figure that stuff out. For now, this is about getting accustomed to PE, the way my penis reacts, and my PIs. It feels so good to have started!

Also, I put my white underwear over my testicles to protect them from the infrared light - gotta keep those sperm safe.

Good luck. I’m at about the same size and was thinking of doing some jelqs in between pumping sets since I’ll already be lubed up and partially erect. I just need to find a detailed description of how to do it. I’m sort of anxious about possibly hurting myself or else doing it so lightly that I don’t accomplish anything.

Anecdotal evidence and conventional wisdom on this forum suggests that starting with either of the Newbie Routines is less about getting Newbie gains and more about conditioning your penis for more advanced exercises. It seems that starting off lightly - conditioning yourself slowly - increases the positive effects of said advanced exercises when you eventually do them.

Felt like I had more of a grasp (heh) of the appropriate erection level for wet jelqing, but I’m only two sessions in so there’s still a lot to get used to and figure out. Hopefully I’m making the right choice by doing long, slow jelqs (5+ seconds) from the off. I’m hoping I’ll get the hang of the overhand grip!

A-ha! Really think I’m getting the hang of gauging what erection level I’m at now. Experimented a bit with the overhand jelq grip because I really want to avoid the “baseball bat effect” if possible.

To anyone using IR lamps like me:
These things are a fantastically convenient and inconspicuous way of providing constant heat throughout the workout. That being said, you should maintain a safe distance from the lamp at all times - I felt my glans getting uncomfortably hot when I accidentally got closer than 8” to the lamp.

Definitely take it slow starting off. As you said, the newbie routine is to condition yourself. This place is littered with posts from people who went too far, too soon, and hurt themselves. I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but around 70% erection level seems to be the consensus for optimal jelqing.
