A Few Newbie Questions

I’ve read the FAQ and other threads for newbies, but I still have a few questions. Sorry if I missed these being answered elsewhere:

1. When manual stretching on the newbie routine, should the penis be completely flaccid? In the video it was hard to tell. Should I stop if I get hard? How long should I hold each stretch?

2. A warm cloth cools down fast when doing the warm portion. I’m assuming it’s a good idea to re-warm it in water after a few minutes?

3. When jelqing, my penis is naturally points up when erect. Is it important that you angle the penis straight forward?

4. During stretching/jelqing there is no discomfort, however, afterwards there is some “soreness.” It’s not pain, it’s just slight discomfort as if my penis has been stretched (because it has). Is this normal?

5. During manual stretching, it’s hard to pull my penis as hard as I would like without all the pressure being on the head. If I try pulling from the shaft, it stretches the skin and is quite painful.

Follow up questions:

6. When I jelq, I try to start around 70-80% erect. Eventually I lose this and drop to around 40-50%. Does it hurt the jelqing process to stop for 20-30 seconds to get myself back to 70-80% erect?

7. After jelqing, the video shows an engorged state, and other information says the penis should remain engorge and longer than a normal flaccid state for a little while. Mine seems to retract insteadl and doesn’t maintain a long or engorged state at all. Is this usual after just starting out?

1. Yes. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds to start. Work up from there.

2. Yes.

3. No.

4. Yes, to a degree. Some “tiredness” or slight ache may be normal. It also could be a sign of overdoing it.

5. Try to pull on the penis itself and not just stretch the skin. You’ll find a comfortable spot. It’s good that you’re wanting to protect the glans.

6. No. But you should be fine jelqing at 50%.

7. A pretty good sign that you’re overworking your unit. (see question #4) Back off a bit.

Great questions and answers. I had a couple of the same questions myself.

My rookie 2 cents: I would strongly recommend a rice sock over the towel method. My rice sock stays good and hot for 10 min+ for me. Even after a 30 minutes mine is still quite warm.

I agree with the rice sock. I have to start using mine after my morning warmup in the hot tub.

Stretching your dick is a little tricky. Not all are created equal. I have to use the “O” grip just behind the glans and squeeze that sucker as tight as I can in order to get any force in my stretch.
