Thunder's Place

The big penis and mens' sexual health source, increasing penis size around the world.

Don't more than you have to

Don't more than you have to

I’ve been a long time lurker, and even longer time PE’er. I’ve been intrigued by the amount of energy, experimentation, and passion many of you put into this, and I must say I have learned quite a lot.

[Now, if I may put on my Biology hat.]]

On these boards there is a large amount of information, and it’s going to be daunting for any newbie to sift through. Some of it is based in science, some of it is anecdotal, and some of it.. I must say.. Seems totally off the wall, and perhaps outright fabricated on some instances. I think the problem is in the manner some people view the process of penis enlargement, as if the penis is a single entity; an offshoot of the male anatomy. It’s not. It’s arteries, it’s branches, it’s tissue divided by tissue, also surrounded by elastic tissue, tissue that is broken down into endothelial cells, and CT, which is made up of collagen fibers, elastic fibers, which are made by fibroblastioles utilizing specific amino acids.. And we’re way past the areas of biology I know shit about. Plus, I recall seeing a thread about l-arginine to “increase NOS levels”.. Which member of the NOS family are we talking about? I’m assuming you mean endothelial Nitric-Oxide Synthase, but I don’t think you understand it completely because I don’t see any mention of tetrahydrobiopterin.

The point is, the intricacies of building and rebuilding a penis are remarkably complex, and to come up with the right exercises, supplements, and schedule may seem impossible to do with all of the information in front of you, especially seeing how much they will vary in success from person to person. Not to mention external variables can influence these processes, like the level of mineral content in your water, the amount of sunlight you get during specific points in the rebuilding process, and how turned on you are by those around you.

If you want to veer off into the various tangents, this is the board for you. If you want to maintain a healthy penis, just stick to the following basics:

1) Be careful, and nothing you do should hurt
2) To rebuild the tissue in your penis, all you need is good protein sources, zinc, vitamin c, and calcium; and a decent diet will have all of these. The only supplement that will help you here may be l-lysine, but if your eating good sources of protein, you’re getting all of the lysine your body will need or use. The rest is placebo.
3) If you really want to improve the blood flow during your exercises, and you don’t have erectile dysfunction, a warm washcloth will do the trick just fine. Maybe eat some ginger root or chew an aspirin.
4) REST. How much rest depends on how old you are. I don’t care what they say in other threads, if you’re younger, your body needs less time. At least 24-48 hours. And if you’re resting, try to give it as little activity as possible. Don’t have sex, masturbate, or anything that will engorge the tissue for an extended period of time while its trying to replace the fibers
5) If there is any efficacy to hanging, it is merely the manner in which the endothelium are arranging themselves after being torn. 2oz will be just as effective as 2lbs, so anything more than that is just a risk and silly.
6) Alcohol, Caffeine, nicotine will not hurt you in small, irregular doses; only when they become habitual, or overused. Believe it or not, high fructose corn syrup is probably the worst thing for PE on its own.
7) Stay in shape, but don’t push too hard. Daily walks or light jogs a few times a week is good enough.

I welcome rebuttals. Just understand I subscribe to the “The fundamentals are fundamental,” approach and anything else, in my opinion, is spinning tires or adding extra steps.

Thanks for this following basics to maintain a healthy penis.

As a bio major I appreciate this outlook. I see far too much “broscience”. I wonder what a urologist would have to say about basic jelqing and manual stretches. I’m only doing it for 3 months and if I get no gains then no more. Even a little gains ill continue till 2014 and stop altogether if they are absurdly small.

Most urologists would say ‘it’s dangerous, won’t work and you should stop doing it immediately’.

Could you elaborate on why an extended engorgement as in sex or masturbation is counterproductive during rest ?

Is it just the extra stress that you think is the problem or an issue with the extra blood flow ?

Staying engorged after PE has always been put forward as a good thing !

I think it makes a lot of sense, but with one key point. If you’re really stretching/expanding or what have you to your capacity, and getting in completely efficient exercises, then any additional stress on your tissues is going to be counter-productive. I’m not talking from experience with penile health here, but as far as I know in any other part of the body (and like TC said, the penis is the same kind of stuff as the rest of the body) you want to let the body heal completely before you start breaking it again.

This is probably difficult to achieve for the penis though. First of all, it’s never easy to have a perfectly “even” stressing of all the different parts of the penis. With jelqing, you’re likely to apply different pressures to different, even small parts of the penis. So a lot of guys may never be able to perfectly efficiently exercise their penis. A little extra “light” engorgement might just be the extra stress they need to get a little more growth in all the parts that aren’t being “fully” utilized.

In addition, I would think it’s very difficult to know exactly how long it takes the penis to recover from a set of exercises. Some guys might be able to heal quickly and thus would potentially benefit from more frequent exercises, but be afraid to do them. In that case, the extra engorgement could be helpful to keep the penis “in use” as often as possible, to make up for the fact that they’re not doing the exercises as frequently as they’re truly physically able. Any part of the body that gets ignored will deteriorate a bit, so if the penis isn’t being stressed through “exercises” to it’s full capacity, it’s technically being ignored a little.

Too bold. As far as supplements are concerned, I agree with you fully, but this you should have left out of your post.

I tend to agree in theory with I Sit on Fish. When I started PE I had those rest days (actually I thought I wasn’t disciplined enough). I didn’t take any special supplements and didn’t push the amount of jelqing and stretching. I had really good gains then. Being greedy I kept increasing the frequency and intensity of my workouts until I was doing 1000 plus wet jelqs per day, every day. Yeah my dick was in good shape but alas I had no gains from it. Now I have had time off and time to rethink and research. I think I’m better off with random PE and am going that route to see if it helps me gain again. I see one big change that may interfere and that is that my wife and I are fucking morning and night for the past two weeks whereas we were lucky to do it more than once in the same week for the past 10 years or more. Sorry! I am not going to turn that faucet off! She’s got me hot and I plan to keep her hot! After 36 years of marriage we deserve it! Maybe she can fuck me blind! haha

I digress! The point is that sex is more important to me. I hope I gain and will report any such occurrence. :)

Hmm , I’m an older guy, I wonder if I should go to a 1 on 1 off routine ??

Every time I hear people speaking about science, I happen to think how much the idea of science has become confused in people’ minds - expecially those who have studied science in schools. Science should be: look at facts, find a theory that can explain how those facts are related, see if your theory can predict what will happen given these or these other circumstances. Now, what science we do have about natural PE? None. No one can give you the optimal rest, force or whatever required to increase size and functionality of your penis because the science has never experimented about this subject; there are a few studies about extenders and vacuum pumps, but people were pulling on their penises way before those studies were done - and beside that, most of studies aren’t on healty subjects neither have a required number of guinea pigs, neither are long enough to give useful operative infos.

I’m all for science; what I’m against is the scholastic idea that most of people have about science: ‘Science is what professional scientists think about a given subject, even if they never have studied that specific subject.’. This is not science. You can like it or not, but we don’t have anything else than anecdotal evidence and our personal experience to base on to say what will work better for PE.

Although I do agree with the OP on the importance of rest, supplements, don’t go overboard thinking more is better, I get the idea that he thinks he knows better than most of people here but without having much to backup this belief.

Marinera - I completely agree with you on science. I HATE when people just say “scientists say this, so it’s true”, and that’s ignoring the obvious fact that many scientists in all kinds of fields disagree on things. I think a lot of people trust scientists to interpret the facts for them and just take it for granted that they know what they’re doing better than everyone else.

You are right that PE isn’t something that has been formally researched, but the human anatomy, and the growth and repair of that anatomy, is something that HAS been thoroughly researched, and I think this is what OP is trying to share with us. Even if his knowledge isn’t based on PE research, it’s based on a lot of other research on the human body, which the penis is a part of, and he’s probably just trying to talk to the people who get caught up in instances where their measurements were particularly good or bad, and attribute it to any random coincidence that happened around that time.

Not to say that everyone here is incompetent, but emotions run high around the penis, and emotions tend to get people thinking a bit less rationally than normal. To be fair, he probably does know a bit more about the biology of the penis than the great majority of guys here, and I personally value that background a lot, especially coming from someone who’s also been familiar with PE for a long time too.

Ideally, every guy would frequently take detailed measurements of their penis and keep detailed information on every penis related activity they engage in (exact force used in specific exercises, time doing them, how much sex, “what kind of sex”) and what they eat, and how much they exercise, etc. Of course, that’s a lot to ask for anyone, so it might be a long time before we get real research done on PE. In the meantime, I am extremely grateful for this kind of advice.

I’d like to see what’s the result of this better knowledge.

Human body extensively researched, well…try to search for the better ‘scientific’ training regimen if you want to improve bench press lift and see what you can find. Scientific research can’t show if 2 sets are better than 3, 6 reps are better than 12, if training 3 times per week is better than 2 or 5 times per week, and so on. See what I’m pointing out? I often look at scientific papers to see if they can shed some light; but a guy who comes here saying that you need to rest 48 hours between PE sessions no matter how mild, or that sex is counterproductive or that few oz will give the same gains than several lbs of tension, well I think he doesn’t know much of what is speaking of, sorry if this sounds rude.

marinera,

We see this over and over. Statistically speaking there has to be credibility in a certain percentage of all that is recorded here. Therefore I can safely support claims of growth. And being guys you know there is a percentage of fish stories and those who over-measure. It would be nice to do a rendezvous every year just to register and record dick sizes. haha We could do something like the Grammys and have awards ceremony etc.
