Heating system for newbies

Heating system for newbies

I realize that there are a lot of new people here now and I wanted to share something with you guys. I have been searching for a really good system to warm up with before doing PE and the best I’ve found so far is the Thermipaq you can find at walmart. I’m not trying to endorse a product or anything as I’m in no way associated with it but the thing is fantastic. It maintains heat for up to an hour which is perfect for my workouts and it can be wrapped around the pump that I use.

Warming up is an important part of PE, especially for people who are new to it and want to avoid injury. The nice part is I got mine for 8.99, which, for what you get is a great deal. Let me know if anyone else has any experience with this system.

P.S. Almost forgot, another benefit is the fact that you don’t have to explain it like you would a rice sock if you live with other people, as I do ;)

Hi man,

Thanks for the advice. I’m finding a hot towel a little awkward to keep warm, so ill keep your suggestion in mind

Thanks for the advice, I just did some research and it looks promising. I am a newbie and have been searching for something to use during my warm ups at work. I will test it out!

Glad to help guys, it’s really helped me out the last few days, especially since it takes 1.5 minutes to warm up in the microwave and lasts for an hour. It’s heat retention is absolutely fantastic. You can also wet the outside of it to allow for moist heat which some people prefer.

You never know when you are going to need an easy to use and portable non-cord dependent heating pad. The thing is, if you need a hot or cold pad you usually need it now and need it without advance notice. So even if you are using an alternative heating method for PE a Thermipaq, or any related product, is just a good thing to have on hand. Some guys just go ahead and use an actual heating pad for PE but that never worked well for me.

Plenty of guys go the home made route and build their own Thermipaq, (rice sock), although it doesn’t retain heat for quite as long.

Probably the next most useful and popular heating gadget is a small IR lamp.
