I found a lump

I found a lump

Many years ago, probably about 10 or more, I found a lump on the epyditimus of my left testicle. It was sore, and it was uncomfortable. It impacted my libido and prevented me from having any sex where my testicles would be firmly bumped.

I went to doctor after doctor and had ultrasound after ultrasound, and it was verified to be a cyst likely caused by some persistent UTI or something. Antibiotic treatments were issued, and for years the problem would fade in and out of painfulness though the cyst never disappeared.

The pain is more of a dull ache and almost feels like a shin-splint or blue-balls or something of that nature. It’s painful, and nothing really soothes it.

No doctor or urologist would remove it, all of them suggesting anti-biotics and living with it. I simply cannot do it anymore. I have a tough time getting and maintaining an erection when the pain flares up. There is no pain while ejaculating, but the pain does not dissipate after ejaculation.

Ultrasounds show normal blood flow and on obstruction.

One doctor, whom I was actually seeing for an orthopedic reason, suggested not cutting off the flow of urine while urinating or “kegaling” the last drops out. He said that in some men, reversion of urine into the epyditimus can cause UTI’s and things like I’m experiencing. That was a few years ago and I completely stopped those practices. The pain became less frequent, but has never gone away.

The cyst is about the size of a marble or a pea. Manipulating it is painful, but not in a “kicked in the nuts” kind of way, but more a deep abdominal pain that’ll buckle your knees and make you dry heave.

Has anyone experienced this, or has anyone heard of anything like it?

I want it solved, removed, destroyed, whatever, but I don’t want to risk sterility in the process. I’ve never had my sperm checked to see if I am fertile, but my wife and I are concerned about our future having children.

Has anyone got any help? Is there a different kind of doctor I can visit that might specialize in this sort of thing?

Thanks TP!

I have a tiny little bump on my right one that I’ve monitored over the years. But it never really “hurt”, at times, my right ball gets like a throb to it, for a brief second.

I take anti-inflammatory’s like Motrin everyday and eat plenty of anti-oxidants from green raw vegetables.

I have almost the same thing in the area where I suffered a vericoceles.

Similair to you although I’ve noticed that since taking Citrulline Malate and L-Arginine as well as regular anti-inflammatories there’s no longer a firm mass in the body of the epididymus. It’s uncomfortable when I manipulate the surface of the testicle that attaches to the epididymus but the epididymus itself isn’t uncomfortable (unless I squeeze quite hard). On a few occasions in the past it has really ached without any manipulation and on all of those occasions I had spent a long period of time sitting down which from what I’ve read previously can cause testicular/abdominal pain. I believe my case was caused by physical trauma during my childhood/adolescent years.

A urologist who specialises in male anatomy is the only specialist I can think of that can help you with your case. You could ask for an invasive operation where they physically inspect the region.

One thing I’ve noticed since taking anti inflammatories is that my testicles are more cold than usual and they’re hanging low. Do you find when your testicles are cold there’s not so much of a problem?

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

See a urologist. Your general doc can give you a referral. My urologist has been great, these kinds of things are right up their alley.

My martial arts teacher says only to stop urine flow every other urination, otherwise you will get a urinary tract infection. (chinese martial arts can include sexual kung fu elements)

Tossed - Oddly enough, I had trauma when I was ~10 years old. A full-throttle kick in the balls during an indoor soccer game.

I’m nervous about invasive discovery, and especially invasive removal out of fear of infertility.

I’ll have to ask my doctor for a urologist referral.

Anti-inflammatory’s everyday? :S Are those prescribed for, if not I would suggest that you didn’t do that..

Try the DMSO + iodine treatments discussed in these forums. They have many applications including the treatment of breast cysts. First do some research for your application though.

I haven’t had much trauma to my nuts except for the occasional kick from girls in elementary school and my girlfriend getting kinda rough with them when she goes down on me, but I’ve noticed a little growth maybe a little larger than a BB on my right testicle. It feels like it is connected by something no bigger than a hair. I noticed it about a year ago but I’ve just kinda shrugged it off since it hasn’t increased in size or caused any pain. You guys experienced anything similar?
