Injury after three workouts.

Injury after three workouts.

I was on the newbie routine for 5 days (three workouts, two rest days in between), and a couple hours after the third session, my penis began to feel slightly sore along the left side of the shaft (the pain even seemed to extend to the left testicle). The next day, the pain had increased dramatically. Touching the penis caused an aching sensation up and down the shaft, and I frequently felt pain even when the area was not being touched. Three days have gone by, and I’m still in pain, though it has become less intense. It if doesn’t dramatically improve sometime soon, I’m going to need to see someone. Fortunately, there does not seem to be any bleeding/discoloration or visible structural damage.

I would love to add some size, but after this experience, I cannot justify causing potential damage considering that I am in a great relationship and everything down there has been working just fine (still works, hopefully .. I will have a better assessment in a couple days). It seems like most people get good results, so perhaps I was doing something wrong (stretching and jelqing). On my last workout, I jelqed with a pretty strong erection (70%-80%), which may have resulted in the damage. If I had not had this injury, I may still be PEing happily, but now I cannot work up the nerve to return to it. I figure PE is something I can come back to later in life, if necessary. In 10 years or so, I hope we’ll all know a lot more about PE, and at the rate of technology change, who knows what other options may be available. My message, take it easy if you’re a newbie.. Don’t rush things, keep in mind what’s at stake, and you should be alright.

Man I am sorry to hear this. However, it does seem you have learned a lesson from it. Many times we have warned new guys to take it easy, don’t be in a rush. That sucks grewex, it really does. Let things heal up and then do some serious reading if you are of a mind to come back to PE.

You have found out the hard way that Pain and PE do not go together. I do hope that your post will ring bells with other new guys to take it easier when first starting out. It does sound like you might have been a bit (ok a lot) over zealous and that is what caused the pain. It may not have been you were doing it wrong, but a little to hard, 70 to 80% erect is pretty darn hard, we recommend 60 to 70 % at first or less, and your penis said, enough is enough already. I’m glad that you are listening to your body and heeding its warnings. Let things heal, please keep us informed whether in a week or two or five the pain has subsided. If it doesn’t go away in 3 weeks, make an appointment to get things checked.

Thanks Sunshine! I will be sure to report back. It was a short-lived but dramatic PE adventure. If everything heals up completely on it’s own (as it probably will), who knows, I might stick around a while and give it another go. But right now, I can’t think about that — I just have to give it a rest.

It’s almost for certain you will heal up just fine. You know of course what you did wrong. You went way overboard in probably every aspect of what you were doing.

While you are healing up take the time to read the Newbie Routine and learn the slow start guidelines of using heat, not too much pressure and short routine times and slowly add as you progress.

This is a long process. Now repeat that 1000 times.

I took it easy for 6 months when I first started PE, and only worried once at around the sixth month or so, when I got a little sore and also little red spots on my glans, I took a couple days off after any scare, and took it easier after until I felt I could start increasing intensity, or grip strength.

Hope you come back and get some gains, dude.

Man that’s bad luck. Take some time off, heed the advice from the more senior guys and start up again once you are healed.

An update on my condition. It’s strange actually, the pain started in a specific spot, namely on the left side of the shaft directly under the head. It then spread so I felt pain all along the left side of my shaft. A few days after that, my left side felt better, and I actually felt the pain on the right side (no PE, no masturbation over these few days)! Right now, there is some slight pain near the head on both sides of the shaft, but it is definitely less intense than it previously was. My penis still has a slightly numb feeling to it, except for the pain, but this seems to be improving as well.

I wouldn’t say that, I wasn’t going overboard in every aspect. I followed the exercises and recommended repetitions in the newbie routine. The stretching I did very lightly, and the jelqing as well, with the exception of that last session. At some point during this session, my erection level got higher and I continued jelqing, though the erection subsided after maybe 15 repetitions. The percentage system is somewhat vague, so I think it’s something you have to learn yourself, and err on the side of caution.

An update: it’s been about 2.5 weeks since the injury, and I’m still in pain along the length of the shaft (only on one side). The pain is slowly getting less and less intense. Also, I have not experienced a morning erection since the injury. I can achieve erection, but it requires much more physical stimulation, and the erection goes away as soon as the stimulation stops.

I’m still not sure whether the injury was to the nerve or the structure. There’s no physical sign of damage although a lot of the pain seems to stem at the base, near the ligs. It’s very strange how the pain began on one side of the penis, moved across the top, to the other side, and now has settled on the original side. I think the pain will eventually subside completely in another week or two, but I’m very nervous about the erections, or lack thereof. That has not improved at all over the past two weeks.

I would use some sort of heating method as I was healing if I were you. It probably will speed up the healing process.

I would not use any heat. If there is any inflammation, heat could make it worse, resulting in damage to the tissue around the original inflammation and increased healing time. If the damage is to the nerves, heat or cold will have no benefit.

Structural damage tends to be focused at one point, whereas nerve damage can feel as if it moves around. You say you have had some numbness, which would indicate nerve damage. When you say just under the head, you don’t say if that’s on the top or bottom of your penis. Top would be more likely for nerves.

However, the body does have a mechanism whereby it focuses on the area most painful at any time, so if the higher pressure jelqing had caused any damage to the tunica you would tend to feel the most painful area first. When this area subsided you would feel other areas which had been painful all the time, but masked by the more painful areas.

If there is only pain on movement, it may be nerves. If there is pain/ache at rest (no movement) it is more likely tunica.

The ligaments would usually only be damaged at the base of your shaft or into the fat pad. It would be unlikely but possible to ‘pull’ them further up the shaft.

Whatever the cause, it should heal just fine. I hope you are back to full erections and morning wood soon. Thanks for posting and warning others that PE does carry risks. Many have no problems, but some do. Everyone needs to be careful. Sorry you were one of the less lucky ones.

firegoat is fully RETIRED from Thundersplace.

All injuries happen from "too much", or "too much, too soon" or "doing the exercise incorrectly".

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. The ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth. Basics.... firegoat roll How to use the Search button for best results
