Someone told me their friend jelqed, gained about 1/4” and couldn’t get it up after the gains. Is this a normal side effect? Is that what kegels are for? I just don’t want to jelq if I wont be able to get hard.

No it isn’t. You should get bigger and stronger erections from jelqing. Kegels help you get harder erections. Check out sparkyx’s thread about indicators to make sure you’re going the right way.

Your friend is either lying or the person who did the jelqing did it wrong. I get awesome rock hard erections after a jelqing session.

Perhaps because I am older, I found that too much jelqing reduces my EQ for a day or two, but if I lay off for two days, it comes back harder than ever :) When I get the amount right it is definitely an EQ booster for me.

Don’t grip too hard, and never jelq with a full erection.

Like marky777 says you have to find what is right for you routine wise. For me, the thunder’s standard newbie routine of 250 jelqs was WAY TOO MUCH FOR ME.

Instead I did something similar to this:

Maybe you will respond well to a “Less Is More” PE approach too.

Even today, I do not do more than 90 to 120 jelqs. It is enough for me.

I found 200+ was too much, and I cut down and down, and at one point 90 was just right. Amazingly when I went up to 100 it was too much, so I was stuck on 90 for quite a while. Yes, it’s powerful stuff. Sparkyx goes into all this in great detail in his EQ and PI threads. “Different strokes for different folks” has never been so true. :)
