I mean that it will get used to the tight grip, if it turns really dark you should remove it, kegel and rest it for a while but using it for shorter durations will in the long run also improve peripheral circulation, even under tighter grips. Nowadays I never experience darkened glans but my dick is really thin so I must use an uneven grip with maximum tightness on one side and maximum minus 1 at the other (I’m talking about the steps on the strap).
I’ve also experienced that I get better EQ and longer flaccid by using little-average force so don’t rush into the heavy force yet, it caused the strap to compress my glands (by moving upon it) really hard which caused a lot of pain and resulted in shorter periods of wear. Also resulted in bad EQ and shorter flaccid.
I hope you gain a lot but be prepared for it to take a bit of time, unless you can wear it 24/7 gains won’t come over night. Good luck with the extending :) .
