Kegel Question

Yo.

When you’re doing kegels, just plain kegels when you’re standing or sitting, is it normal for your testicles to rise? I also feel my abdomen tightening. Does this mean that I’m doing it wrong?

My testicles rise, my penis moves slightly, but my stomach doesn’t tighten. I have to be careful because sometimes I’ll start doing the wrong muscles, like the anus for example.

Yeah, I only figured out yesterday how to do them properly, and have been doing them whenever I can think of it ever since. It’s really hard to pinpoint the muscle. But before I somehow thought that I was flexing my BC or PC muscles when in fact I was only using my buttocks. Now that I’m doing them properly, I find it’s really difficult to keep the muscles flexed. They relax of their own accord within a second or two. Well, I’m getting the hang of it I guess.

Straightchaser,

When standing, try pointing your toes inward (cheeks out). This stance makes it a little tougher to ‘activate’ the anus. That should help isolate the kegel area.

I don’t see any problem in tightening the anus, as it’s contracting it to do pelvic floor muscles working. When flexing the BC muscle at it’s maximum, Id say it’s impossible not to tighten your anus somehow. Btw, tightening your whole pelvic floor is definitely not bad for working out your BC muscle and for PE in general

In one of the threads I read it says that tightening of the stomach or anus is normal in the beginning, but that with time and practice it becomes easier to isolate the kegel muscle.

I have found that when I squeeze the hell out of my BC, my anus and stomach tighten as well. I don’t think that it is necessary to squeeze that hard. Just lessen the strength of the squeeze and you will probably be surprised at how easy it is to isolate the BC.

Its super hard to pinpoint it, so here is what I do. I looked closely at the pictures of where it is located, and then I generally stick my finger on the muscle, and push. That sensation really allows me to pinpoint the muscle.

Just verifying, though: We’re talking about the Bulbocavernosal (BC) muscle, right? Which is essentially the end of the penis shaft, right beneath the balls, correct? I think Will Farrell hilariously referred to this area as the “Fleshy Fun-Bridge” in some old SNL. Hehehe.

Is that what we’re trying to ideally flex with kegel exercises?

The only thing you should be tightening is your BC muscle. In other words can you lift your dick without using your hands.

haha in high school, I used to hang a towel on my dick and do “push ups”. Now that I think about it, I wonder if this is an effective kegel…
