New Routine - Post Review

Hello everyone, new here, and very happy to be. Just wanted to throw my routine in the mix, and really, I’m looking for any feedback or thoughts because I see a lot of emphasis on the jelq, which I am familiar with, but for whatever reason can’t seem to get on board with that alone. I’m really going for the long haul here, and want something that is manageable from a time & lifestyle perspective, so here goes.

The basic schedule is 3 days ON, 1 days OFF staying consistent. All sexual activity is reserved solely for off days. This works out to PE roughly 5 days per week, with a little bit of enjoyment mixed in there.

Routine as follows:

—30 second stretch, straight forward.
—30 second stretch, left toward hip.
—30 second stretch, right toward hip.
—30 second stretch, down toward floor.
—30 second stretch, up toward ceiling.

—Brief massage, bring to 60% erect.
—Utilizing only hands, and coconut oil for lubricant.
—250 "ok" JELQ, approximately 2 seconds in duration each.

—Brief massage, allow tissues to relax.
—PENIS EXTENDER, using a silicone loop and comfort pad.
—Bringing extender to max extension I can stand comfortably.
—Moving device to downward position, toward floor.
—One session of 120 minutes, optional break halfway when needed.

—Brief massage, allow tissues to relax.
—Immediately into shower utilizing WATER BASED PUMP.
—Three sessions of 5 minutes each.

—Positive self talk.

I have been doing this routine for two weeks. Where I don’t expect anything just yet and really am motivated to put this to test for 3 months for starters, I wanted to get this out there and get some feedback from some of the veterans. All feedback is appreciated. I also tried as best I could to follow the forum rules, so any feedback on that is appreciated as well. I think pumping could possibly go a bit longer, and I just ordered two dry vacuum pumps so I can have suction outside of the shower, so really would love some knowledge in that area. I know some people here swear by dry pumping with a gauge.

So far, my flaccid is hanging a bit larger, and had one sexual encounter from an old fling and she noticed a slight change. Measurements come next, I’m a little bit ruler shy for now.

Welcome! I am going to assume you work remotely or live alone and do this in the evening. You mentioned doing this sustainably, and then delivered a solid 2.5 hours of work. That’s quite a while, especially for a "I’m new to this" routine. I’ll be honest when I say that there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with it, if you are seeing results and watching your PIs.

I would love to hear how those are doing- do you feel some tissue fatigue after a session, but recover almost completely by the next one? Are you getting any bruising, petichiae (spotting), or edema? Are you getting morning wood (this should be a natural bonus to a healthy PE routine) or does your dick run and hide and turtle because it feels abused? But a couple hours stretched and some time in the pump is a great thing. I like the jelqs as a way to stay personally connected with the process, too.

Thanks for the feedback, Lit159265! I have done some jelq and pump work, never more than a few weeks at a time over the years.

On the topic of jelq, what is your rep range and are you doing dry or wet? And mashing etc.? I’m also curious what you think about my order of operations, should the jelq be at the end maybe, does it even matter?

Time-wise, this isn’t too bad. I am single & live alone, so the jelqs are pretty quick, maybe about 10 minutes. Then the extender is worn during my wind-down at night while reading or watching television and pumping in the shower before bed. But I am thinking about extending pump time. Any thoughts on that piece? With extenders, lots of people seem to say they stretch for up to 8 hours or doing the ADS worn consistently.

The edema or bruising isn’t all that bad. After jelqs, it is just reddish. The extender did give me some discomfort at the beginning and my tip was hurting from the silicone loop, but using the pad and taking it out briefly every hour to get some blood flow back into it has made it very manageable. Same thing with the pump, my dick has become used to that I believe, or maybe I’m just not doing it enough (this is the one area I feel I can do more). There is some red SPOTTING on the shaft, and after 3 days it does fee worked, hence the 3 ON 1 OFF cycle.

Funny you mention the morning wood. With my last girlfriend and use of porn, that wasn’t a thing at all. But since dropping both and starting this routine, in combination with eating healthier and just keeping my mind out the gutter, morning wood has returned.

Glad to be here! I should disclaim and say I’m far from a great role model as far as warming up, using heat, and all the other great stuff people talk about. As far as jelqs- I’m usually 3 sets of 50, probably 1-2 seconds per rep, and wet. I’m not sure what you mean by mashing.

There will always be people doing more with an extender. It’s low-effort in a very general sense, and it absolutely works over time. Stretching for length is absolutely a function of time under tension. More tension isn’t always good, but as long as there’s a tug, more time is usually good. There are some real scientists on here that you can read, but I think the biggest thing is that consistency beats everything else as far as factors go. Don’t change your routine if it seems to be working. People design a program, and then never apply it long enough to know the results before they start tinkering, and never know what really did it. If you plateau, take a few days off and restart and see if it magically breaks through (bodies are weird). If you still stall, tweak one thing.

As far as your PIs, you want to avoid just accepting negative indicators. For example, I CAN pump to 8". But then I have big-time edema that takes 24h to go away. I stop at like… 7.75" or a little under. If you get more than very mild spotting or edema, you may be going too hard. It’s tempting to keep piling on, but don’t.

As for your routine, specifically, the manual directional stretches seem like a warm-up. I would treat them as such. You’re just trying to get loose with that, in my opinion. As long as you’re not stressing your body and are getting warmed up and stretched out, then cool. I would do the extender second. Your jelqs could then act as an active recovery from the extender, and start pushing blood to help lead into the pumping. Personally, I really like the 3 sets of 5 minutes for pumping, especially in the shower. I usually take really short showers, and don’t personally understand showers long enough for more than 3 rounds of 5 minutes. If I water pump, I sit on the edge of the tub with a book in the evening instead. I will pump during a shower and just let it hang there but it’s like a bonus 5-7 minutes max just because it feels good.

I would end with the pump and then some firegoat rolls, and then some form of constriction for 20 minutes or so. I wear a rubber bracelet (like livestrong or whatever saying you find) most of the day just to help keep a bit of a pump, but it’s better to wear a cock ring for that first 20 or so after. It helps lock in the progress and avoid some edema.

Very helpful, it is nice to read around the forum but I really appreciate the direct feedback on this routine specifically. Mashing is the incorrect term, my bad. Looking on the site it is referred to as the "Sadsak Slinky."

You touched on the warmup stretches. I see them everywhere but I don’t feel like I get much out of it, nor do I think it is necessary. Might start to roll right into the extender, then jelqs, then pump. I like that lineup you suggest, works better logistically too so I don’t have to clean twice with the coconut oil. Will look into the rolls & the clamp, much appreciated.

With the pumping I hear you loud and clear, and I’m jealous! I just got to the 7" marker on the pump, 8" would be a dream. But yeah I tend to do the first session at 6.5" to ease into it, then the next two I go full send. Sounds like you use a water based pump - any experience with dry vacuum pumps? Just ordered two, going to play with them a bit adding to the end of my routine, might replace water pump completely.

I have a very low-tech pump and have been able to use it both wet and dry. I far prefer wet, but it’s obviously less convenient. I will do wet when it’s dedicated time or in the shower, dry if I’m just getting some extra in. I love to do little bits of pumping just because of the opportunity (I mentioned I’m a bad example), so I’ll do things like watch a TV show or edit audio and pump very gently for longer periods because a super gentle stretch is still a stretch and I can hold that and keep working on other stuff.

Also, while I have length goals out there, girth is far more important to me, so my activities are girth first, and length happens less intentionally, almost as a byproduct. I’m 5.5" around and really want to get to probably 6, 6.25. I’ll look up the slinky and get back to you.

I agree on the girth, want to get that "tight" seal every time. Hot-dogs down hallways are not enjoyable.

Not sure if it’s within Thunder’s policy to share products that we use. Will find out and if so, send you a list of what I have.

Okay, so the sadsak slinky. It looks like a far more intense version of A or V stretches, possibly combined with a Horse 440. It looks like it would be great for girth, and I may personally begin incorporating them. I had been looking at adding a/v stretches but hadn’t yet. If you try these, please, please don’t do it fully erect or super hard. It would be a great way to rupture so many blood vessels so quickly!

Yeah that one scares me a bit, especially for the possibility of injury. Will likely hold off for now while I try to incorporate dry pumping & change the order of operations to see how my body responds. If you try, please let me know what you think.

Just updated it with the tweaks we spoke about, and today is the day I will officially start recording progress now that I feel confident with the timing and order of operations, plus adding the silicone ring as a finisher. Two Week Update.

Since beginning the routine I have found it relatively easy to stick to, minus a few concerns and doubts.

1. Sticking to the routine on work days is especially difficult because it cuts into sleep time. So on these days I sometimes run a modified version of the routine where I only extend for 60 minutes versus the 90 minute goal.

2. Manual jelq is something I try to keep to approximately 15 minutes. I do at least 200 repetitions at a time, 250 is the goal. I have an issue with staying hard on my own, so I keep a solo female video in the background to maintain blood flow. A challenge is choosing content that keeps me semi-erect but that I can also separate from after a jelq session to avoid sexual gratification.

3. Sexual gratification and delaying it has always been a challenge for me. I have found that on days where I do the routine as well as sexual gratification, the lasting results and corresponding pump sessions are not as strong. A challenge is to truly stick to "off days" and only seek sexual gratification when not training; 3 days on, 1 days off.

4. Once beginning a routine, it is much easier to just stick with it. Missing days here & there lead to the tendency to take more & more days off instead of just staying on for the ride. The first day missed is easier to overcome than falling off the routine completely and having to restart.

5. Morning wood is coming back when well rested, this is the first obvious change. Hanging a bit longer, and heavier, while flaccid. Shrinkage and retraction is not much of an issue at the moment, however, is slightly noticeable when rest is poor or sexual gratification occurs on a training day.

6. This can fit into a healthy lifestyle if you find ways that mesh with what you are already doing at home. Extending I do while prepping dinner or reading. Jelq sessions are always right before a shower. Pump sessions take place the hour before bed, when I am already laying down and winding down while reading or watching a show. I usually stack all these activities together do it is done at the end of the day. Note, I live alone & don’t have the challenges of a roommate or girlfriend etc. present while doing these activities. If and when that time comes, I hope to be comfortable enough with these practices that I can healthily work them into whatever my schedule and life throws at me.

7. I don’t know if any of these results are permanent, and the only real change I see during the exercise is that I fill up more of the vacuum pump. Small changes, and taking that as a good sign and motivation to continue forward.

I’m glad you posted, I was starting to think you’d researched for a week and then disappeared into the ether forever. I’m curious about your schedule, such that, as a single guy, a couple hours of the evening cuts into your sleep. No judgement from me, I definitely make it fit my life and not the other way around, but I’m curious.

Your jelqs sound really slow if 200-250 is 15 minutes. I am closer to a rep every 2-3 seconds including the reset, and could do 250 in under 10 no problem.

I definitely don’t pump and have sex on the same day, and give a several-hour break between any stretching and sex.

Thanks for the follow up, I got involved with an ex for a bit there and wasn’t on the forum.

So basically for me, this is my last chance to make this a lifestyle so I’m not backing down. I’m mid-30s and want a shaft of steel.

I work 12 hour shifts, so those days mixed with the commute, eating, training, etc. can put a squeeze on my rest time. If it was the typical 8 hour day I think it would be more manageable. But luckily I only work 3 days per week! I will experiment with this a bit more, but I’m pretty adamant about 3 days on, one days off so inevitably my routine overlaps with work.

I think my jelqs are slow because I have to get hard again sometimes if I’m low energy or tired. Otherwise I agree, 3 seconds per jelq would be ballpark 12.5 minutes. I don’t mind the 15 minute marker, it helps me space things out time-wise. Plus there is a video I use that is about that long so it makes it easier.

How long have you been on your routine? Do you think gains are permanent? That’s my latest concern / obsession.

Also a few notes.

WARMUP: I don’t even do one now.

EXTENDER: I am using SizeGenetics, and just added another lengthening rod to the device. Rookie gains I think, but that’s a good sign.

JELQ: No change really. My grip has become stronger, I alternate left to right, and I stick to 200 reps for the most part. I try to stay as hard as possible.

PUMP: This is where I have the biggest changes. I was doing a combo of hydro and dry pumping, but it felt like overkill. I don’t see the need to have water in the pump - and the difference in swelling or the “doughnut” or the hang isn’t substantial. I have an electric pump, but I got a solid hand pump off amazon for around $50 and it’s great. I like it because it has the length measurements right there. So I go to about 6.5 inches now, at 7.5 mmHG for pressure. Still 3 sets of 15 minutes, but might up that to 3 sets of 20 minutes.

QUESTION: One thing I’m curious about, in regards to pumping, is if it is worth it to do three sets or just combine them all in one go. Also, I am curious if there is a suggested time between sets if that is indeed the preference.
