Look for somewhere around the point you feel energy being ‘centred’ or ‘directed’ ‘downwards’. Huge increase in sensitivity of glans is one sign. Another is an impulsive urge to masturbate/fuck faster. Another is like… a… ‘hot’, ‘liquidy’ and HEAVY sensation that starts at the bottom of the spine, and goes all the way down to sort of under your fat-pad (note: you can, through thought, lead this pleasurable energy up your spine, all the way to your head and down between your eyes - like in some meditative ‘ecstatic’ practises). At this point (the point just before ‘the point of no return’) you have two choices.
1. Kegel (aka, hold the BC muscle) to effectively ‘close off’ any ejaculatory release. Possible side-affects are that the ejaculate will go inside you urinal system (no danger, it will be flushed out when you piss) - as opposed to staying in the testes. Also some pre-cum (generally not that much) is present – more often than not shooting like you would normally cum, due to involuntary muscle spasms.
2. Reverse kegel (aka, relax the BC muscle), to stop the muscle ‘spasms’ that preclude, and are present when, you ejaculate. Side-effect can sometimes be a lot of pre-cum, oozing out (not muscle spasms mean no shooting cum). And I mean a lot. Chance of actually ejaculating is small as you have plenty of time to feel the pressure building, at which point you can immediately kegel (hold), stop stimulation – and then start again for another orgasm.
It’s all about self(or sensual)-observation, really.
