If you go to the home page like Panos said there is an article about Physiological Indicators (PI). Scroll down and read the third scenario about Mr B. Dog. Obviously yours is not as drastic as that but your scenario is that you have a positive PI after your workouts because you said your limp size is huge compared to normal, and then you have a neutral PI on your rest days because of the temporary shrinkage. But because you have been gaining you know that the shrinkage is a positive PI for you.
