Simulated clamping

Does anyone do this? Basically simulating a clamp with your hand and just holding it? Would this be productive? Would there be discoloration? Thanks

Lately I’ve been using the smallest cock ring from a set of three rubber rings (see attachment) right at the base on the shaft only. It gives a tight enough fit that it acts like a clamp. My base girth is over six inches to this may not be tight enough for everyone.
