Smaller Flaccid Size After Exercise

I have noticed a smaller flaccid size of about one inch after jelqing and light stretching. I have been on the newbie plan for two days tomorrow being my off day. The smaller size last for about an hour and returns to normal. Is this a normal response or am I overdoing it.

Forgive (and hopefully correct) me if I’m wrong but I think you’re experiencing what’s called “turtling” which I believe is basically your penis retracting inside you as a way of protecting itself and to allow it to heal better. I think the reason it “turtles” at all is because it has been overworked but again I’m only a newbie so my words can’ be vouched. I believe “Biggirtha’s” main slogan is to never let it turtle. Hopefully a more experienced PE-er can help out a bit more than I can.


Starting stats (17-01-2011) : 4 3/4" BPFL, 4 1/4" FG --- 6 7/10" BPEL, 4.75" EG

Current stats (30-05-2011) : 5 1/4" BPFL, 4 1/4" FG --- 7.5" BPEL, 4.9" EG

I had the same problem for the first 4 months of PE, then it just stopped or gradually slowed down till I didn’t notice anymore. Now (9 months later) I get like a plump feeling/look after I do PE.

I don’t believe that too much stress causes anyone to turtle, but I say this because I turtled before starting PE and still am. No difference in the frequency of turtling before PE or since I have started, so I say for myself that too much hasn’t effected me.

I’m sick with the flu, whole body feels weak and its turtled. Now looking back, everytime I was under high stress the flaciid is weaker.

Ahh I see but I wonder does it vary between people? I’m like you in that perspective, at one given time I could have a ~4 inch flaccid hang but at other times it would be retracted and turtled I suppose and I wonder could it be a circulation thing? Not trying to intrude the topic by the way I’m just trying to take any and everything on board.

Oh, im sure it does vary between people. I guess I should have have used “me” in place of “anyone”, since it does vary from person to person.

So long story short Justpassigthr I don’t think you have anything to worry about unless you start getting spots on the head of your penis which would mean you’ve ruptured your capillaries, nothing too serious initially but if you keep doing what you did wrong in the first place can lead to bad problems. But if you’ve no spots or anything like that you should be fine.

I have always been a grower and have turtled. I know I posted it returned to normal but it has not only felt as if it had. I normally have a 3.5 (fl) so seeing 2.5 bothers me. I just do not want to cause any damage so I’m going to tone down my routine a little for a while. Thanks for all comments.

Like I said as long as there’s no pain or discoloration/spots on the head it’s fine but toning down a routine can be quite beneficial especially if you have doubts. Are you warming up correctly before and after each session? I believe warming up and cooling down to be the most vital part of PE and obviously it makes and exercises far far safer to do.

I have not warmed up every time, I can see where this could be my problem. The smaller size happened after exercise at work with no way to warm up.

Well it very well could be that then, but could also have something to do with room temperature. I personally wouldn’t do PE without a good warm up of at least 10 minutes not only for fear of doing damage but also to promote more gains if any are attainable. It just makes me feel better knowing I’ve done it the way it should be done for optimal effect. Hope I’ve been of some help.

Everything did return to normal after a few hours with good morning wood like I’ve never had before. Also relations with wife that night both of us noticed a harder, firmer erection. Thanks again to all that helped.

Turtling after a workout can also mean you have gone overboard. If you cock gets too much trauma, the natural reaction is to retreat and heal, and that means turtle.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I’ve noticed a distinct difference between when I warm up and do PE versus when I don’t warm up. Final conclusion IMHO: Warm-up is a MUST!

I started doing stretches and jelqing but noticed that it would turtle up. It could have been due to lack of warming up or like Gprent said, because I overworked my unit, or still a combination of the two.

Having joined Thunder’s and read through a some of the threads, I came across the budget friendly rice sock (a sock filled with about a cup of rice) which, when microwaved for about 2 minutes, produced some great heat and works well to warm up. Hope that helps!
