I have maintained that it is risky talking with partners about PE all along, the risk being that women see PE as something unknown and they ate not sure how they fit the behavior into the relationship.

Sound like your wife implicitly gets “external validation” but does not have the same implicit understanding of “internal validation.” Can’t help but wonder if your efforts for the latter purpose have negative connotations for her sense of the former. This is about you and your needs so don’t let any future conversations get sidetracked — but that’s the danger of framing PE for a wife around how it will benefit her, or using her bodily metaphors to make points about your psychology. How, anyway, does taking a few minutes for yourself negatively impact her life?

The issue threatens male partners as well. Even when they are size queens. Its nothing to do with gender. Its very normal that people get threatened when their long term partner starts doing things that make them more attractive to others outside the relationship. As long as she sees your new hobby isn’t damaging to the relationship (or her favorite toy!) she’ll probably accept it to some extent. If she thinks you’re wasting your time she might find it a bit silly or weird, but I’m sure you accept some of her silly and weird habits too.
