Streching without warm up

I thought that each survey (on TP and other sites) concluded that there was no difference in gains between those who did warm-up and those who didn’t.

Still, better safe than sorry.

Okay, I will warm-up, but isn’t there other ways too warm-up, like maintain an erection or something?

Starting 01/05/2009: BPEL: 15.5 cm (6.1 inches) MSEG: 12.5 cm (4.9 inches)

Now: BPEL: 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) MSEG: 12.7 cm (5.0 inches)

I do manual warm ups.

Which is basically100 seconds of doing the chopper. (Waving your penis in a circle motion quite quickly)

And it gives quite a good flacid hang.

You don’t warm up to increase gains, you warm up to avoid injuries.

Talk softly and carry a big stick.

I don’t warm up before stretches because i’m in college and I do my stretches in the restroom stall before or after I take a dump. I warmup up by rotating my penis in a circular motion also for about a minute then on to my routine. I have a roommate so no pe in the room at all for me because never know when a teacher cancels class and what not and he comes up unexpectedly. If someone comes in the restroom while I’m stretching I just sit down until they go away or continue later.

Personally,

The best warm-up I’ve ever gotten was a damp wet towel. But instead of constantly re-wetting the towel under hot water until it’s hot again, I just throw it in the microwave for 12-14 seconds. Instantly it’s hot again, and I don’t have to strain and re-strain the towel.

Sex, money, and jellybeans

I warm up by doing bed fowfers, it takes a bit longer say 30 minutes compared to 10 minutes with a rice sock.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

Thanks for your ideas. But seriously, will the chopper be a good warm-up? ;)

Thanks to the author of this thread! I think I’ve gathered enough infos throughout the discussion about heating and stretching. Now is my time to put it in use. Yup.

Thanks, Nskrd, I agree. If you would have read the context of my post, you would have noticed that I was replying to a post that stated negligently misleading information.

Strictly on-topic:
This site is full of threads about the virtues of warming up (avoiding injuries, better gains, better blood circulation, etc). I think I heard them all. Nevertheless, there is no certain evidence about better gains. No comparative study has proven it to give better gains. Beside the surveys that didn’t make any difference regarding warm up, all the remaining controversy is based on personal experience and suppositions. There are good gainers that do warm up and other good gainers that don’t.

Regarding injuries, there is a consens that warming up is highly beneficial. I wouldn’t dare to say otherwise, but I’d like to better define its framework:
People seem to understand two different things when talking about warm up. Some take it “ad literam” as heating that specific body part, while others understand it as “ease in” into the routine.
Depending on the preferred theory about growing, heating can be beneficial, neutral, or even counterproductive, regarding gains. Neither in avoiding injuries, heating is not clearly a bestseller. In my opinion, easing in the routine, making light stretches and chopper rotations is a far better preparation for avoiding injuries than using just heat. Before making for the first time an exercise with heavy weights, bodybuilders use to make a set with light weights to avoid muscle and ligaments injury. I’d like to know how many PE’ers that also do bodybuilding, would agree to jump right on heavy weight exercises, making their “warm up” just by heating previously their arms?

Lastly, don’t forget that most injury reports begin with “I did a proper warm up…”. Warming up makes it safer, but it’s not a 100% guarantee against injuries!
