Unforeseen Breaks

I have just started, relatively speaking, on my PE training and have a question regarding unforeseen or even planned breaks(due to illness, mind state or vacation) and how to deal with getting into the routine again.

For example I was on my 2 on/1 off schedule for the first month and a half and then took an unplanned break for about a week and a half.

I don’t know if I should start back at the beginning with the newbie routine or do some form of linear progression. What are your experiences and suggestions?
