You know that you're an idiot when...

…when you’ve just discovered that your dick is 1,6cm *longer* then you have been measuring it for the past 3 years.

Yep, yesterday I discovered that I have been measuring wrongly after all this time, allow me to explain.

I always measure my penis using a wooden ruler. On this ruler, the 0cm-mark doesn’t actually start at the beginning of the ruler itself. There is a 8mm gap between the start of the ruler, and the 0cm mark. I, in my infinite foolish wisdom, always substracted 8mm from my measuring results to compensate for this. I just discovered that this is of course very stupid, since I actually had to do the exact opposite! I should have *added* 8mm to my measuring results instead of substracting it. The difference between the measuring result minus 8mm and the measuing result plus 8mm is 1.6cm. So my penis is actually 1.6cm longer! Of course, I am quite happy that my penis is officially more than 6 inches long now, but it of course doesn’t change anything about the fact that I still think it’s not big enough. ;)

…It’s so silly that I never double-checked my measurements with another ruler for the past years.

Well, my plastic ruler also has a 8 mm gap but I DON’T count that in. Just because that makes the measurements a bit closer to NBPEL but not quite :) And since I have never included the 8 mm gap in my measurements it would get confusing to do it all of a sudden so I will keep excluding it :)

What should I say? I believed I was using a metric ruler, just a minute ago I discovered it’s an USCS ruler.

I kind of did the same thing except I justdidn’t see the gap at the beginning. Also I used an actual tape measure and put it next to my cheap-o ruler and found out that it was also off a few mm.
