Making The Tube Longer - DIY pump Extension ... Suggestions??

I’m almost too long for the current pump I’m using (not because I’m long per se, I’m just long in the pump). But this pump is perfect and I cant find a replacement that has the same function with a longer tube.

So I’m wondering about a DIY manufactured/engineered extension to the pump.

Obviously someone good with melting and making plastics could probably just create a plastic ring and glue it on the end of the pump. But I’m not sure how I would do that.

Any tips or thoughts you guys have would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I spoke with the manufacturer and it appears that won’t work for my cylinder

I used ABS pipe.

I cut off about two inches. Rounded the ends of the body side with #300 sandpaper. Smoothed the other end square. Caulked it to the end of the cylinder.

Caulk is a great idea. I was wondering whether super glue could do it but didn’t think it would seal. Did you just caulk around the outside edge? I’m concerned about getting it inside the tube

No, I caulked the two surfaces where they meet, not the outer area. And now that I think about it, it was plumber’s putty (a pliable, clay-like substance), not caulk. So, yes, it did squeeze into the inside of the tube. But I easily stripped it away with my finger.

I would not use super glue as I doubt it can provide an air-tight seal.

Doing my session now. Works like a charm. My pump is now 9.5 inches long. As I’m barely at 8 fully pumped now, this extension should work for a while before I need to extend it again. Lol
