Safety of "around the waist" ADS?

I recently started using the around the waist configuration more frequently with my vacextender head. I had really decreased my extender hours lately, due to general inconvenience and discomfort, so I thought around the waist would be a good alternative to get more hours in.

After a few days of 3-4 hours of around the waist, along with 2-3 hours extender, my dick would not get hard!

At first I didn’t make the connection, but recently went out of town for a few days, and didn’t bring my vacextender. I have healed.

I think the problem with the around the waist set up is the pressure on the side of the base of the penis, where the ring or loop presses.

I know that there are often problems with penis fatigue and erection problems caused by PE over training, but this seems to be different for me. I felt like my penis was really damaged, even though the around the waist set up is comfortable and rather mild as PE goes.

It was a bit scary, but I seem to be back to normal. Something to look for if you use this type of ADS.

Try to go without the ring, I felt it was way too uncomfortable with the ring, I bet you can have it on a higher tension that way. I’m wearing it for at least 8 hours a day, in 2-3 hour periods.

How do you you use it without the ring? I tried replacing the ring with a loop of soft 5/8” diameter nylon rope, but this also causes a lot of pressure at the base.

Putting a high degree of pressure on the base of the penis for extended periods can indeed cause damage. It’s why you shouldn’t get carried away with the use of steel cock rings for any length of time or clamp for too long.

I would recommend attaching it to the leg with the nylon strap. If you must go around the waist, do so without looping anything around the base of your dick

Looks a whole lot better than a steel ring, but I’d still be a bit leery of cranking up the tension too high.

What’s your experience, tps? And what level of tension do you use?

Slightly off topic, but I know from your posts in the review forum you’ve been ADS-ing for while now. Made any gains?

Mr. Happy, I have never had any luck with the leg attachment set up. It is hard to get good tension, and it varies too much when walking, sitting vs. standing, etc. Any tips?

Also, around the waist with no base loop, as shown in Monkeybars web site, doesn’t make any sense to me. Around the waist tension, in that case, goes from the vacextender head, through the strap around the waist, and back to the vacextender head, without going through the penis!

Grip Twists look interesting. So, TPS, do you do the around the waist ADS frequently without any negative effects?

In your picture, it is hard to tell how you adjust tension? Also, why do you call it progressive?

I had good success wearing it all day long with bathroom breaks every couple hours. I could over-do the tension, but I could handle plenty too. Never did put a guage of any kind on it, but it was definately more than the typical ads type of tension.

No negative effects. Always had plenty good wood. Maybe more than now when I’m not thinking about my dick all day long.

Tension is adjusted with the orange strap. Home Depot of course. ;) It goes through the D rings and back over itself and is tucked in behind me. I put the paint marks on so I could set it consistantly. It was easy to over tension and it wouldn’t be an issue for maybe 30 minutes and I’d start to feel it get uncomfortable and have to hit the bathroom for a re-adjust.

Called it progressive because there was a lot of talk about dynamic and static splinting at the time. After the penis was stretched, it felt almost like a relaxed state and the tension actually felt like it was decreased. I’d start at the first mark and then go to the second after a while, progressively adding tension for the best stretch possible.

I have put in lots of hours with the steel ring around the base, and vacX head, at low tension and as high tension as the rig will take.

No problem so far, except that it eventually hurts at the base. But that goes away as soon as I’ve taken it off. No effects on wood, ever.

So do you think it is better to use an inextensible strap like that or to have some elastic cord as part of the set up. I use monkeybars elastic cord, attached to a nylon strap. I adjust tension with a cordlock on the elastic cord. I think the elastic helps keep tension, and helps from over tension when bending down.

Anything that moves adds a variable. I prefer less variables or moving parts. People hang with bungee cords, I prefer things fixed with known values. The wide strap also provided more comfort and less digging into the skin that a narrow cord did.

Because it’s elastic and moving too much, I’d think. It certainly moves less around the waist and is manageable, though you can see what happens when taken to the extreme.

Mgus is the expert. He has tons of hours and results logged. Maybe an adjustment to the ring? Babbis also had an extender that he made and posted in the member’s picture forum.

Nah, the ring isn’t comfortable, but it hasn’t caused me any grief. Tps setup with the grippers seem way nicer.

I think it would be worth experimenting with a ring or something that has a greater diameter (of the material itself) such as grippers. Softness is a major bonus too.

I did try a couple things like string and cotton rope put through some surgical tubing. Pinched. Don’t remember what else I tried, but a few things. Going through my collection of PE Garage Sale.jpg crap, saw the grip twist and really liked it. I twisted it and used it whole for a while, then finally trimmed the edges, pulled the padding back, and twisted the wire inside to itself. Lowered the profile and made things more comfortable. Everyone is different, one size definately doesn’t fit all. Gotta play with the stuff. :chuckle:
