FIRe Session Timer

Like others, when I am in a hanging session I usually do other things. Things like checking email, watching TV, etc. During my sessions, the biggest problem I have is remembering when to change the weights out.
Now this problem is a thing of the past. To my brothers here at Thunders, I present to you the FIRe Session Timer
FIRe Session Timer (Local Mirror)

FIRe Session Timer

SetMinutesWeight Heat

I developed this web-app over the last couple of days to help me keep track of my sessions. It is a simple web-app that displays a countdown timer for you session. Moreover, it also tells you what set you are on, and how much weight you should have hanging. It also has an option to specify if the set should have heat added to it or not.

To use the app, go to the url, and enter in the time, weight, and heat option for each set. Then press “Go” and let you session begin. When it is time to change weights, the web-app will ring a bell. This will help remind you even if you are surfing in other tabs. It will also play a final bell to let you know when the session is over.
Conversely, the app will also remember you last session details and auto-fill them in next time you visit the site.

Like the FIRe Load Calculator, this web-app has no bullshit. There are no ads, or storing of user information ( previous session settings are stored in the browser). It is a simple client-side app the runs on the user’s browser. No accounts, no passwords, no bullshit.

Hopefully, you all will enjoy this. As I said with the FIRe Load Calculator, this is just my way of giving back to the community. If you find any bugs, or want to make recommendations post them in this thread and I will try to accommodate.
Happy Hanging!

Ring the bell, nice! I use the wrist watch oh shit method. Sort of works.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

That is what I had been doing too.
Another nice thing I added to the app was a pause button. It seems like every morning when I am hanging, the dog needs to go out right in the middle of my session.

Here is another choice that I recommend for anyone who uses iPhone/iPad: the Time Timer app. It’s free, no Ads, and customizable with multiple timing sessions. You can use it for Fire, conventional hanging or very much any application. A screenshot example of my setup below.

I was kind of expecting a bell to ring. Tested it out but not sure what advantage it has over lets say my iPhone timer.

This is pretty cool. Thanks.

You may have to enable permissions in your browser.
Also, there is no real advantage. You can use a phone timer. I wrote the app for myself, but just figured that if I use it, others here may want to too.

Thank you for sharing this awesome web based TIMER.

No problem. I hope you enjoy it.

*Update*

Added a new feature to the timer. The time remaining now displays in the tab title. Now there is no need to switch to the website to see how much time is remaining.

Missed this initially, not sure how, great work this will be really helpful when I hang again. Thanks.

Thanks, let me know how you like it.

I have been debating changing it up a little bit, and making the UI easier to use.

But all that would require free time and will to do it :)

Brillant idea. Will be using this next cycle which will be handy as I’m looking to copy SG’s method of adding small increments every few minutes.

Can’t you just put alarms on your phone?

You sure can…..but…..you would have to set and reset the timer multiple times throughout the session. With my app, just set the weight and time for each round; do you session, and next time you visit the page, it will load your last session for you. Given a lot of people here do their sessions at their desk, I built this app to help make things easier for them.

On a side note, this isn’t the first time I have heard this comment. You can use whatever you want during your sessions. My app isn’t the one-all-end-all. It is just a simple app I built to make things easier for the community. It’s free, and it doesn’t collect any information on you. No ads, no bullshit, just an app.
