More than 15lbs. necessary?

More than 15lbs. necessary?

I have only been hanging for about a month now. I do 4-15 minute sets BTC. I have been using 15lbs. , as I have worked up from 7. My ligs seem to be getting used to the weight increases very rapidly as it still takes 3 good sets to reach fatigue with the 15lbs. Here is my question… exactly how sore should I be after a hanging routine? After my first week, I would describe my ligs as being sore to the touch (pretty sore). Now I have to push and feel around down there to “find” the dull soreness that I now get. Do I need to use more than 15lbs? And finally “Does soreness actually signify growth stimulation, or is it possible that I could be making progress even though I experience very little soreness?”

Started: 6.5” BPEL / 5.5” EG
Now: 7.5” BPEL / 6” EG

I have been PE’ing now for a little over 2 months, and have gained my 1” during that time with jelqing, and manual stretching, and I also wear an ADS for about 6 hours a day. I may have gotten maybe 1/8 or so from hanging so far, but unsure because of all the other stuff I do.

By the way, thanks for the compliment N2G… I am a very obsessive compulsive person, and since I found out that PE was possible, my whole life seems to be centered around it. Kinda sucks, cause i’ll probably never be satisfied, and I’ll be doin this forever. hehe

A few more questions for you.

Is there a certain exercise in jelking you use?

What kind of manual stretching (ie..any certain one)?

What ADS do you use for 6 hours a day?

Nothing wrong with being obsessive about PE, my wife tells me I’m obsessive about my dick and I reply yes I am…

What type of jelqing?: I usually try to keep myself 50% erect, and I use 2 second strokes, alternating down/ then straight out/ then up, and repeat for about 300 reps. I have not been jelqing so much lately, mostly hanging and stretching.

What type of stretches?: Just plain hard stretches, up, down, straight out, left and right. I know about all the different types of stretches and all of their fancy names (not to be offensive to anyone) but I try not to get too fancy with what i’m trying to accomplish here, I just believe that if I stretch hard, and consistently with good hopes, gains will come.

What ADS do you use?: I actually was going to buy one, but they are very costly, and I am very good at making things myself, so I went ahead, and make a jes-extender type ADS with materials from Home Depot.

Thank-you for taking the time to respond to my questions (off topic)..

I wish I could answer your question about hanging, but I just started hanging again 8/10/03 and before that (a year ago) it was only like a month then I stopped (very dumb I know). I am not up to your weight yet.
It varies as well, I can do 10 pounds on a pulley and about 5 pounds without. I try to go at least 15-20 minutes and get a hour in, Monday I will up to 1 hour and twenty minutes with maybe a small increase in weight. I feel my ligs a little now, but mainly if I touch them, and also today was a off day for me for the bib though.

I do hope some with a lot more experience chime in soon..

Btw post a picture some day on your homemade Jes-extender, sounds very interesting, I am currently waiting on my penimaster. I can’t wait to use after hanging.

Sore to the touch is very sore. That will probably not occur as you go on. Unless of course you take an extended break.

That sounds about right. Do you ever get twinges when not hanging. Sharp quick pains that kind of surprise you?

You seem to be pretty tough to begin with, able to handle a lot of weight in a short amount of time. It took me a while to build up to 15 lbs. As long as you are getting the feelings described above, and making gains, stick with 15. Move up when you no longer feel the work, and/or you are not making gains.

Having said that, a lot of guys never feel sore and make gains.

It is very possible to make gains without feeling sore. Many guys have reported this. But I always knew when I reached fatigue that the tissues were elongating. It was simply a sign that I was doing enough.

Thanks for your input, I know I can rely on your word, as you are the one with the experience. I really needed to know if what I was feeling ( A dull soreness) was what I needed to be feeling. And you have settled this issue for me. As a matter of fact I got one of those quick twinges in my ligs earlier today… it was the first time I ever felt that, so its funny that you mention it. Yesterday was also the first time I ever hung with the 15lbs… up from 13. So to sum up, I think 15 is where I need to be right now.
