My new hanger

I just put up some pictures of the hanger in use in the Member’s Pic’s Forum.

Adding some templates that I made. Could print these out at 100% and use as a cutting template. Of course, all corners are smoothed for comfort especially where the hanger comes close to the head/glans where I used a router and rounded the edges.

Whats the heaviest you have hung with it? A Cableclamp (tm) could be taken apart and used similarly, many people have small cable clamps to play with as the full size one sometimes comes in packs with a few small ones.

I had to take an extended break of a couple months while I built the hanger so I haven’t done any long term hanging with high weights yet as I work my way back up. I was at 15 pounds with the Bib before undertaking this project and I know this hanger is just as capable.

I’m sure someone could figure out a way to attach a cable clamp to use, but I think it’d be pretty difficult. I really like my ratcheting strap but just wish it was smaller. I got the strap Ike thought might work and it would; however it’s just as large as the one I have plus I’d have to cut it and drill holes to attach it to the hanger. The snowboard replacement bindings are the best so far as no modification of them is necessary. :)

The ratcheting strap- an Awesome idea! If your looking for a smaller strap; have you tried rollerblade parts? I think they are usually smaller than the snowboard kind. Unfortunately they may be a little weaker also. Great hanger man!

Thanks wing and legolas for the kind words. The only drawings I have for the hanger are the “template” pictures above. Those are what I used for my blueprint and cutting diagrams. Rollerblade straps are a nice idea :) I was kind of waiting for the winter season and hoping I could find a better selection of snowboard straps from more manufacturers, but rollerblading is always in season here in sunny Southern California.

I have however come up with a new design (still in the testing stage) that replaces the strap with an even easier system. Hopefully I’ll be able to share those ideas with everyone soon.
