Slippage while hanging SO

For some reason, even when I have the hanger pretty tight, in the straight out position it seems like the hanger gets closer to the ehad than it should, and closer than it does in other hanging positions. Has anyone else noticed this and how did you deal with it? I find I can do much more weight straight out than straight down (using 25 lbs SO comfortably)

Wow, for some reason I just pictured you hanging a medium sized dog off it. 25 lbs, respect. I have noticed a similar slippage. I used a second vac hanger sleeve and it seemed to grip better. Talcum powder?

Oh, sorry I should clarify. I hang with a BIB. Vac hanger can’t do nearly that much weight.

Iron, so after years of experimenting do you think bib hanger is better than a vac hanger ? Do you think the vac can’t hold much weight is because of the slippage or possible blisters ?

Most people agree that bib hangers can take more weight, the debatable part is which does more for you when you use them at the same weight. I think it’s the sleeve which is the weak link here.

Ironaddict69 I’m making the switch toBib. Too many injuries with the vac systems. Have you managed to solve the issue?

I made the switch to a bib like hanger and I can say it’s WAY better than the vac system, simply because there’re no injuries and I can add much more weight (am at 15 lbs right now).

However, I find it difficult to hang SO, because of the slippage. I tried to angle the hanger and it works much better indeed.

With all due respect, I think maybe you are experiencing troubles because you have not perfected your wrap and hanging technique. Skin stretch while hanging straight down may have masked this.

Why do I say this? Because I had the EXACT same problem when I started hanging SO.

See if these old threads of mine help. If not, I`ll try to help out. In essence, I found that I had to make sure the hanger was gripping the structures and "settling" while using a light tug as I tightened. When I felt it was grasping the structures, I tightened it all the way down.

In the past, I would attach the hanger and immediately start tightening the hanger, but when I attached the hanger it would always slide toward the head no matter how tight it was because I had not done what I mentioned above first.

Renholder is right. When the hanger is on properly and tightened enough, it won’t even budge, no matter the angle. When you add weight you need to always make the hanger just a little tighter.

When I started OTS I had problems with head pressure. Now when I have the hanger tighter, there’s not any issues and I don’t even “angle” the hanger.

Use pulleys or just hang the weight over the edge of your chair/couch/bed/whatever.


Started hanging on 3/28/12 after minimal gains on the newbie routine. Still not discouraged! This game is 99.9% mental. Stick with it, gents.

After 1 month of hanging 5-6lbs BTC: 1/4" gain in BPEL and BPFSL!

Definitely think the Bib is far superior to the Vac, I would recommend starting with the Redi Stretcher, then going to the Bib. Vac is very difficult to set up by comparison and left a nice dark patch at the end of my glans now, and most importantly after using it for a year I didn’t see one millimeter of length gain, without the Ligs being gripped directly, I don’t believe you can make much progress with a vac, but using the vac set up as an ADS I would think is useful.

Wow very interesting. I will definitely have to try all that, because mine always slips towards the head, and that probably won’t provide gains will it?

When you hang SD with a clampstyle hanger some of the weight is on your skin. In the SO position there’s more slack in your skin so the hanger will slide further.

I’m impressed by the weight you’re using for SO.
