What household items have you hung from you dingaling?

Before I got started with the actual barbell weights on my bib hanger I improvised with:

1. clasp jars filled with water
2. 1/2 gallon milk jugs filled up with about 3 pounds of water, I hook it under the handle

well that about does it for me, but I KNOW there are some hangers that have gotten creative, lets hear it.

Currently I use 2.5 barbell weights.

once I almost used my dog. I was walking from the shower naked and she jumped up and tried to bite it. Reflex kicked in and she never tried that again.

I have actually only hung a few times but I was looking in the sports section at walmart and was looking for some plate weights and saw some ankle weights. I got them because they are adjustable from 1-10lbs. Each ankle wrap has 5 individual 1lb weights in it that you can easily pull out or put back in.

They were 10bucks for the 10lbs.

I never used weights just a size 12 triple E sneaker and work boot full of change, I cashed it in once and it was almost 100 dollars worth in the sneaker alone. I also used a 5 gallon can of paint once in a while but it was to big to sit down.

I hang mostly SD with one #14 window weight (can barely hold it off the floor) and two #9 window weights…that’s 32 lbs…sometimes add a 4lb trot line weight.

I am finally gaining, but admit that I toughened my ligs too much by using a vibrator while hanging. I can barely reach fatigue and am seldom sore.

What’s the vibrator for? Also I took three months off from hanging because of bruising and felt like a newbie when I started back up maybe you should try a break. Unfortunately I’m on another hanging break now due to no time

Thanks for the advice on taking a break to decondition, Dino. You may b e right. I remember when I thought it was unbearable to hang one nine pound weight…that’s when I used the vibrator—I thought it would relax the ligs and help me break on through some limiting factors…if I could only go back to those days of easy fatigue! I should have ridden the fatigue I was getting at the time. I also have to wonder if the theory of clamping/circulation stopping exercises toughening the collagen matrix might be in play. It is possible that I have stretched the soft tissues to the point of narrowing artieries by pulling them shut, so to speak. Might it all be a domino effect that could have been prevented by my lack of patience? And all because I read that one theory was to break on through limiting factors quickly by using more weight at the front end of the process.

Sometimes, when I need to add about 1/2 lb., I’ll use my 25’ Stanley tape measurer.
