What is important in hanging?

I have tried the swimcap hanger and the Chickenchoker 3. I read the article on ligs stretching and if that really affects length. I am wondering what will actually produce gains in hanging.

I read Bib’s gains from a stretched 6 inches flacid to a stretched 11.5 inches flacid. Totally awesome - now what will get me gains like that? Am I actually looking to have my shaft stretched? When I did the Chickenchoker 3 BTC, I felt intense stretching in my pubic area, but little to nothing in my shaft. I think from reading all of the experts on the board, truly, lig stretching is of little value. Am I wrong?

Is the Bib Hanger the best for shaft and tunica stretching? Is that truly what I need to go after - shaft and tunica stretching?

Ligs and tunica/shaft are both important. Try making lig gains first by doing something like BTC (as you were). If you have potential for lig gains, they should come relatively easily and quickly, compared to tunica gains. Once your lig gains have seemed to dry up (or you give up trying to get any), switch to a higher angle and concentrate on tunica for a while. That’s the conventional wisdom anyway.

Thanks for the advice Para! What do you recommend as the best thing for tunica stretching/gains?

When it comes to gaining with hanging, time is on your side. Hanging takes time! The more time you can hang, the more gains you can expect!

The bib hanger is the best devise in my option for hanging.

Most important is safety. You only have one penis, be very carefull with it.

So how are you going to hurt yourself hanging? If you inform yourself about the subject before you start, one can not screw it up. If you have questions just ask or do a search here. After about a week of hanging anyone can understand what is going on and I just don’t see where anyone can get “hurt” hanging. I agree that you don’t need to start hanging with a lot of weight but anyone in there right mind will do research before going into hanging. The only advise I have is in the hanger one uses. That is the only place someone can get hurt.

SNM, you’re overestimating people :) . And that includes me — I have thrombosed a few veins through hanging, I think. It’s easy to do too much too soon. It’s exciting to make gains, and one’s natural instinct is to keep increasing the weight and time too quickly…

Mr. Schlong, I agree with SNM that the Bib is very likely the best hanger around. Many guys have been successful, though, with cheaper do-it-yourself hangers like the Captn’s Wench.

I also agree with Mr. Schlong that time is vital in making hanging gains.

As far as a tunica exercise, you really can’t beat upper-angle hanging, according to most people. So that would include over-the-shoulder hanging, or even something lower like “straight out.”

I agree with P-G’s advice to go after lig sourced gains first with BTC hanging. Your LOT may or may not decrease with gains from low angle hanging (mine did). Follow that with SO or OTS hanging to work the tunica. Like P-G said, that’s the conventional wisdom anyway.

I like the BIB hanger also.

You would think that, wouldn’t you? Guys insist on using noose type hangers, don’t unwrap between sets, continue to hang with cold/numb tips, hang with injuries, don’t wrap properly, hang to heavy, etc, etc.

Because of the very constant stressors hanging is actually one of the safest ways to go (IMO), if you are anal about monitoring and controlling the variables. Don’t do it right and it can be very dangerous. Funny how many guys insist on doing it half ass-ed.

Good point guys and I think the biggest mistake guys make in hanging is moving up too fast with weight. One would think you would study hanging before starting this program. Sorry, I just don’t think like a newbie sometimes.

I hang heavy weight when I hang. I read somewhere on here that cells start dieing after 16 minutes of no blood flow. Thje cold tip is a sign. I unwrap and pump new blood in after hanging. I am too beat up to do it again at 35-38 lbs. I am going to go to ads after hanging. I need to devote the time to get thing thing built.

So most importantly,get a Bib for the hanging for the tunica and shaft? I appreciate all the advice you have given. Time to get busy and serious about it!
