New Pumper - Need Advice

As a brand new pumper I need some advice

-best place to watch some basic vids on pumping?

-best shape of cylinder to get for first pump?

- is LA Pump still a good option? I don’t know much about it and I don’t mind paying a few extra bucks to get a quality pump…

- I am leaning towards the getting the most basic pump possibly and doing air pumping (not wet pumping) but last question, best and most effecient lubricants and heating method?

Welcome! There’s more here on pumping than you can read in a week. Hit up the pumping sticky/pinned threads for incredible amounts of information. I have never used LA pump, but lots of people seem to talk positively about their LeLuv experience, including me. Read the post on sizing for a cylinder, and start with a straight tube. I spent about 20 bucks for mine and am very happy. I know you said you were looking at dry pumping, a super basic pump will allow for either.

Heating is a whole discussion, but I’ve never been good about it. I wrap the same one I use for back problems around the pump and turn it on, when I do it at all. Others are much better about it.

As for lube, mine has a soft rubber insertion point to help seal, so I’d avoid silicone, but otherwise, do what you like.

I agree, read the thread about cylinder size and the one called vacuum pumping 101.

I have a cheap pump from ebay that looks identical to the LA deluxe (with the red handle and the manometer). Works just fine. The cylinder has no rubber rim, just a flat rim.

I stick to the basics described in the 101 thread and read some more while I pump (and I am learning some new things)

I spread some water inside the tube, that allows me to use very little well-placed lube. I heat with a heating pad of the kind used for back pain and dysmenorrhea.
