Selecting Your Cylinder Size

Maybe so. That would allow him to get the 2.25” cylinder and have the same comfort level as a 2” cylinder.

That wouldn’t explain the larger sizes though which from this size up start to get to be way too large for the proper fit.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

gprent, do used cylinders ever trade here? if not, where would you look for one?

Sometimes a guy will put one up for sale, but I don’t think there are any right now.

ChuckR, an inexpensive and credible alternative for you might be going with one of the Picturebrite cylinders off EBay. (Go to EBay and so a search; specify picturebrite as the seller.) You can pick up a good combination package of cylinder and pump with gauge for a reasonable price.

I bought one recently, and thought the quality was roughly comparable to Kaplan, but it cost less. It is not as good as my Vacutech, but it costs a fraction of the price, so if you’re starting out, I think it’s an alternative worth considering.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

Thanks, Lampwick, but I’ve already done that. I was specifically looking for an LA pump because they don’t have the reduced-size opening that the Picturebrites have.

I read through all these posts. Thanks for lots of great info. I saw some info on length gains, but seems to be more on girth. I have been jelqing for about 2 months and have seen modest gains. I thought it might be good to mix things up a bit and figured I’d look at pumping as one. I’m 6 7/8ths BPEL with a 5 7/8ths girth at the base. More girth is fine, but my main focus is on length. It would seem that I should go with a 2” tube, perhaps a 9” length. What ways are there to focus more on length when pumping? Or should I look at a different type of PE?

Pumping primarily targets girth, although there are some length gains to be had. If you want to primarily target length, perhaps you should start reading in the Hangers Forum.

If you do select pumping, the 9”X2” cylinder will be the one to buy.

Thanks gprent. I’ve been looking at that, too. Do you suggest a “well-rounded” group of PE exercises or is it better to concentrate on one style?

It is very difficult to combine two aggressive primary PE styles without going overboard. We do recommend combining pumping and jelqing, but the jelqing should be done lightly to stimulate blood flow.

Hanging usually stands alone as a technique.

Thanks. And one last question. I know most guys are not perfectly “round”. But for cylinder size, does it make a difference that I’m just under 2” across, but only about 1.5” top to bottom?

No, that shouldn’t make a difference. The one penis geometry item that does cause some difficulty is large head size where the head will pack the top of the cylinder first and cut off the vacuum to the shaft area.

Thanks!

How about the vacuum sealing? I’m a bit sceptical about the sealing quality if there is no rubber or latex involved at the base. So how does it seals if there is only acryl at the base?

It just does and if you shave the base, it seals with or without lube. Obviously it is not a problem, because everyone hear uses professional type cylinders and there have only been one or two seal issue threads that are cleared up once proper techniques are used.

The inexpensive cylinders that rely on rubber sleeves for sealing are very flimsy and will not last long. Don’t waste your money on them.

About the VelSeal, the seal itself makes the entrance smaller right? So if I normally need 2 inch, do I need to take the 2,25 inch instead?

I’m not sure about the sealing quality of the Joel Kaplan, does anybody has problem with leaks or stuff like that?
