There are tons of doctors on the web or late night TV who will do a phone or internet consult and write you a prescription for testosterone. According to my pharmacist, the retail price of the testosterone cypionate I use is $195 for the 2x100mg/mo prescription. The insurance co-pay price is $15.

Testosterone was first synthesized in 1935. That $15 is probably pretty close to its wholesale price, and my insurance carrier probably isn’t paying a whole lot over that. Retail price is pretty much an imaginary number.

That’s pretty cheap. I have 2 problems with that.
My insurance is pretty crappy and I haven’t seen the price of prescriptions since switching. I want to do 200-300mg a week. My doctors office also only offered me 200mg per month if my test was under 300ng/dl. Still trying to figure out what I want to do so I’m not rushing.

200mg/month seems to be the standard dose, no matter what your numbers are. I don’t even remember seeing anyone mention a different dose, though I’m sure there are some mavericks out there.

There’s no “official” testosterone level; every doctor can theoretically pick a number out of his hat. In practice, the insurance carriers have created their own separate tables of what amount of TRT they’ll pay for, in steps based on age. Due to the high “retail” cost, few people go past that.

And the older you get, the worse it’s stacked against you. The insurers base their numbers on an “average” they arrived at somehow, as opposed to “optimal.”

If I’m doing endogenous testosterone, I either want to be at the peak of normal or over the edge into super-physiological levels. I think the max most doctors will prescribe is 200mg a week, unless you find a doc that will play ball.
Most HRT/TRT doses I’ve heard of are between 70-130mg a week, or the classic 200 a month.

Question Andy, what ng/dl does 200mg a month get you to?

I don’t know yet. I had the six-month blood draw last week; the doc said it could take a week or more to get labs back now. Hopefully it’ll be in tomorrow. I’ll let you know what it says.

The lab back in November said 185.7 total, 23.6 free, which is about half of the standard for someone my age. The first lab, from my main doctor back in July, showed estrogen levels were way up too, but the endocrinologists’ lab sheet doesn’t say anything about estrogen, unless it’s one of the mystery two or three letter codes I have no clue about.

I will be keeping an eye on your progress logs because I’m definitely interested in seeing what your blood work results are.

The doc called a bit ago; I just finished transcribing my scrawled notes to text. The lab showed my testosterone level at 749; that was ten days after a half dose. (I shoot up weekly instead of biweekly) I’ll pick up a paper copy at his office later today.

The half-life of injected testosterone cypionate is 8 days according to Pfizer, so maintaining 749 over the baseline of 186 looks pretty good after ten days.

That is pretty good, do you feel different? The usual consensus among steroid users is the split the dosages to 2x a week to avoid the lows at the end of the week. How do you feel the day or 2 before your next shot?

Honestly, I don’t notice much difference. I’ve used half-dose-weekly since the beginning. A couple of friends are on the usual 200mg every two weeks, and both have used the term “roller coaster” to describe how they feel.

One went to an implant; they’re supposed to last four months. He says the last month he feels pretty low; apparently they taper off instead of just running out.

So I’ve learned that after 5 years of pain it only takes 2 weeks to heal a torn rotator cuff with ostarine. Ostarine is an oral SARM. Tastes disgusting but has opened me up to the wide world of performance enhancing self medication’s.

Welp the downside appears to be some mild erectile dysfunction on week 3. I was prepared and bought some dark web cialis. Small price to pay for working shoulders.

Took a few weeks off due to some erectile struggles. Should be back at it today.

I have been rehabbing my rotator cuff so I understand the struggle. It’s been nagging for years until I did a 7 week ostarine cycle. It’s almost 100% now. Hopefully my TRT regimen finishes the job

Been on diy TRT for a month now. Getting 110% erections. My PE routine has been lacking. Need to take new baseline measurements because it’s looking like I’m back to near 7 length from EQ gains alone.
