Diagnosed with Low T at 22
I finally got around to getting my T tested and my total was in the normal range 585 but my free test was below par. I don’t remember the exact range but it was 8.7 and the minimum was 9 so I was just below that. So Normal total test and low free test. My dr said he will be putting me on HRT. I’ve been reading about it for the past 2 months and know a decent amount of information on it now. For those who don’t remember my previous posts where I complained about my EQ and problems I will see if I can find the thread I made or maybe you can search my posts. Basically my EQ is like a 5. It doesn’t get hard enough for penetration but sometimes it does. I’ve been using sexual enhancers(natural herb kind not cialis or viagra) for the past 2 years to have sex. I can have sex without pills when I take 6g daily of citrulline malate but erection still struggles if I’m on top of her.
I meet with my endocrinologist for the first time on the 19th. Aside from the erection problems I pretty much have all symptoms of low T that I’ve been reading on the net. Some depression, weaker joints(which is the cause of the depression because I haven’t been able to workout parts of my body due to tendonitis), fatigue, lower libido. The only thing that hasn’t been affected is my ability to gain strength in the lifts that I am still able to do. I was 20 when I noticed that I had problems keeping it up when at 18 and 19 my EQ was steel and wouldn’t go away until I wanted it to. I think it was my prolactin that was abnormally high on my results if that’s the thing that signals your testes to make testosterone. the high end was 15 and mine was at 25. I hold my weight in my thighs, ass, and waist even though I’m 18% bodyfat and very muscular. I developed a little gyno(perky nipples with tissue inside) that I hate so much.
For anyone who is on TRT of HRT here what should I expect? Will I be on HCG to preserve my fertility? A little wisdom from anyone knowledgable on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Sucks to be 22 with hypogonadism but I’m starting to accept it. I’ve lifted weights since I was 16 and eat a pretty clean diet but I guess it could happen to anybody.
