Completely Honest: My Experience With PE and Recovering From Hard Flaccid
I am sorry for posting this in the basics forum. I’m not experienced enough on Thunder’s Place to post in the injury forum. I’m writing this in hopes that if someone goes through my same situation, they can find some answers. Therefore, this is going to be a long post, as it is something I wish I knew when I got into this situation. Lastly, I’m not claiming that PE doesn’t work. I believe that it does. It is just not for me.
After doing about a month and a half of manual stretching, jelqing, and edging, I have decided to stop PE altogether. I experienced a small amount of growth in this time, but I believe a lot of it was due to increased EQ. Various issues such as looser skin, a desensitized penis, and an unhealthy mental state surrounding my penis size are the main reasons why I have made this decision. From the start, my partner has made it clear that she is very happy with my size, and our sex life has never suffered because of any size related issue. I am pretty average, around 5.6 inches long and 5 inches in girth, but I have learned to read her body well over the many years of our relationship. I know exactly which position, speed, and angle to use depending on the sensation I want to give her. Any size increase from PE was just supposed to be bonus, not necessity. Once the negative side effects started to show up, I decided that the cons outweighed the pros, given my situation.
After stopping however, I experienced what is known as hard flaccid. When flaccid, my penis still feels somewhat stiff on the inside, particularly in the corpus cavernosum. It is now frequently retracted, or turtled, and is about an inch shorter in flaccid girth and length. I can feel a tightness in my groin area, and I don’t like how small my penis normally is now when not erect. I know that many people in the PE community are skeptical about whether or not there is such a thing as hard flaccid, but I promise I am being honest, as are many other men who are having the same issue. I will not provide pictures because on the outside, it just looks like a small flaccid penis. The best way I can describe it is if your penis was experiencing shrinkage, like when it is very cold, except it doesn’t hang normally again once it gets warm. It is always in shrinkage mode. I believe that I developed this from doing kegels a bit too hard while jelqing and stretching, as well as edging for too long after a workout. Keeping my erection at 100% for an excessive period of time really overworked my pelvic floor. During an erection, the corpus cavernosum fills up to harden the penis. The pelvic floor then tightens to ensure that the penis remains filled. With hard flaccid, your pelvic floor is overactive, remaining tightened even after the erection has subsided. This means that the corpus cavernosum always stays slightly full and rigid, even when flaccid. This is why the flaccid penis feels tight with hard flaccid. Many men report feeling like "there is a hard tube inside the flaccid penis." This is the slightly full corpus cavernosum that is being maintained by an overactive pelvic floor.
Many men go to doctors and urologists only to be told that there is nothing wrong with their penis. This is very discouraging for these men because they feel broken and uncomfortable. However, these doctors are correct - there is nothing physically wrong with the penis with hard flaccid. It is a pelvic floor issue. The best way to heal from hard flaccid is to rest, do exercises that relax the pelvic floor, and try to relieve anxious feelings. Anxiety can actually cause the pelvic floor to subconsciously tighten, so relaxing psychologically can definitely make a difference - especially if you’ve been freaking out over what is wrong with you flaccid penis. Here is a good set of exercises you can do to relieve hard flaccid by teaching the pelvic floor to relax and become normal again:

This is a real thing. However, it is not an indictment of PE. I believe that PE works and can help many men. For others however, it can cause hard flaccid. Understanding how to heal hard flaccid is important, as many men spend far too long worrying and thinking that it is a penile problem, when it is actually due to a chronically tightened pelvic floor. Do the exercises I provided, try not to vigorously masturbate, and relax your anxieties. Don’t worry, because you will be okay with time. If someone wants to move this to the injuries forum later, I think that would be best as it will be in a more appropriate place. For everyone in the PE community, please believe that this is real, but also understand that it is not an attack on PE. Accepting that this is an issue that can arise from PE, understanding how it works, and providing men dealing with this the resources they need to resolve it is a much more compassionate choice than trying to invalidate what they are going through. In the end, it will actually make the PE community more inclusive, knowledgeable, and safe. If you have hard flaccid, resolve it, and want to continue PE afterwards, just make sure to go easy on the kegels, and don’t edge too long or too vigorously. As for me, I’m going to work to resolve my hard flaccid, but then I’m going to be happy with where I am. If anything, this experience has just made me appreciate having a working penis at all. I will carry the flag for average guys who have an excellent stroke game and can still make women melt. Good luck to everyone else with their PE progress, truly. I will try to respond to this thread for anyone who has questions or for as long as it is still active.
