Jelqing Injury Worried and Scared

It’s only when it’s something you’re obsessed with it becomes an issue, have seen the same problem with weight trainers.

When the ligament completely detaches it’s what people on this forum call a lig-pop right? Is there pain when it completely detaches, or is there only pain if it’s torn or strained, or is it different for everyone? Just curious because one day I was stretching out a few weeks ago and I was clenched while doing it, and I heard and felt a pop in my groin (wasn’t stretching my penis, was stretching my body). Might have been my hip cracking or something I didn’t think much of it, but this thread got me thinking. The lumps in my groin showed up sometime after that happened I think.

Usually, when you feel a pop like that it is due to a tendon “slipping” over a bone moving to a new position. When it pulls tight, it pops like a bow string. Detached or injured ligaments can hurt badly if you are predisposed to having nerve endings in those areas. People who have been stretching in PE for a long time can partially detach their ligaments without much trauma because they are conditioned for it. They still need to recover from it but is less of a serious issue in their minds. A newbie will be consumed by fear that he broke his penis. He will heal and will learn.

Mostly agree.
It would take a huge force to detach a ligament.
Most folks if they push it will get a grade 1 sprain. You’re more likely to have persistent pain from repeated low level irritation, ie not resting enough or when you overdo it.
Or putting stress on injuries to test if they’ve healed.

Don’t pay any mind to jimmybob, he just jumps from injury thread to injury thread accusing people of not actually having an injury and it all being in their head.
Get some tests done if you can, it’s most likely nothing serious, but if you’re having chronic pain, some tests might be able to show why you’re in pain, and it would put your mind at ease to know for sure that it isn’t anything serious.

You are the last person to give advice to anyone about injuries. Post whatever your great experience tells you to post but keep me out of it.

Thanks guys for all the posts! I have a question though that may help pin point what is going on, if I flex the muscle (I think it’s the PC muscle) that makes your penis jump, like if you were doing kegals. That is where most of the pain comes from, well that and my shaft. It almost feels like that muscle is detached, or an open feeling, but when I flex the muscle my penis still moves. My penis also hanging slightly to the left compared to before the injury. I’m just trying to go into detail and give all the facts to help understand what exactly is going on. Again I know it can’t be diagnosed over the Internet and I understand that. But you are all very insightful and I appreciate the responses. Could this be what is strained or pulled? Would a strain or pull there stop me from getting erections?

Just to add one more thing, I also noticed I can’t kegal blood into my penis anymore like I used to. If I kegal my penis kind of jumps a bit but I can’t feel the blood being pushed into it. Is this normal during any of the types of injuries we have discussed? Or does this point to something else?

Hey coolguy.

It concerns me that the replies here are so blase about your injury and concerns. You describe a lot of things that I have been going through. I have been in constant pain for over 2.5 years now, caused by jelqing, with very little relief or regaining of erectile quality. There are a few other people around with this problem and a lot of posters here like to pretend they don’t exist, but they do.

I don’t want to make anyone overly concerned, there’s every chance you have a minor injury, but you may have damaged or put compression on important nerves through your pelvic area. Nerves including genitofemoral, ilioinguinal, pudendal, iliohypogastric and some others affect the area you are talking about. It might be helpful to look up neuralgia of these nerves so that you can rule them out as possibilities, or find (hopefully not) something that fits.

In the meantime I would suggest looking up supplements for anti-inflammation, muscle repair, and nervous system relaxing. Magnesium (citrate and phosphate) is very good for relaxing the nervous system and muscles. Definitely get prescription anti-inflammatories. Don’t do any squat type activity, crunches or anything that will tighten your hip flexors or groin muscles. Try to relax your pelvis with breathing exercises. DO NOT do pelvic floor exercises until you know more, if you keep using those muscles to try get a better erection or to push blood into your penis, the muscles will become hypertonic and increase your pain and dysfunction.

Actually there are a few medical people on these forums: doctors, physios and other allied health professionals. Qualified people are less likely to give advice because they/we understand that it is impossible to give a diagnosis over the internet.

That said, a few things that may help put your mind at ease. I have never heard a report of a member sustaining a permanent injury from jelqing. There have been many injuries, however they usually resolve in weeks or in the extreme, a few months.

As “How lack” has pointed out, if you had ruptured a major vessel, you would have bruising if it was superficial; or at least some swelling (perhaps becoming lumpy) if it was deep.

If you have insured the dorsal nerve(s) in a significant way you would most likely have tingling or numbness on at least one side of your penis (there are two dorsal nerves, each runs superiorly to the CC deep to the Buck’s fasica).

“How lack” mentioned the suspensionary ligament; there is a actually a lot of connective tissue in the penis comprising of ligaments and several layers of fascia.

Injury to the penis from jelqing is usually minor and involves a small tear that sets up an inflammatory response. The body has an innate intelligence for healing and in this case would involve complete rest for the penis i.e. no stretch from erections or otherwise. Inability to get a good erection after a big PE session may be due to an inflammatory response. This may resolve in hours or days but in the event of a more significant injury, weeks.

To complicate things, one of the biggest impediments to getting a good erection is anxiety. When you have an injury you basically have everything stacked against you:- mentally and physically.

In the event of a minor injury (no significant pain or bruising or disfiguration); the best thing you can do is leave it alone and focus on something else while it gets better.

There are medications and supplements that can help healing and erections, but I can’t give advice on that. Rest is the biggest factor.

Good luck and tell us what the urologist says!

By far the best response on this thread. Listen to it or not; all up to you.The more different ideas you put in your head the longer it will take you to heal, if ever.

That’s information that could be useful in the future if his injury persists. But it has only been a few weeks, and his injury sounds like it is just a strained ligament. Sorry about your situation, but what you’re post is going to do is give this guy even more anxiety and stress than he already has. He very most likely doesn’t have the same type of injury as you, and I know you’re trying to be helpful, but jumping to scary conclusions this early into his injury is only going to be harmful to his mental-state. You did give potentially useful info, but you really could’ve worded your post in a less scary way.

Your statement is contradictory in the extreme. Anxiety is the number one cause of ED and you are fueling it with these kinds of remarks. There is a chance, though slight, that he has done some nerve damage. It happens if you are too vigorous or enthusiastic. Those injuries heal with no lasting effects. Jelqing done incorrectly can put pressure on the nerves but I doubt very seriously that what you are experiencing was caused solely by jelqing.

If you want to help, suggest possible injuries and their associated cures but leave the drama out of it. Accusing people on here of being blasé or unconcerned to the point of negligence or worse does not help anyone. There is no conspiracy here. Just a bunch of guys trying to make their dicks bigger.

There are a few other people around with this problem and a lot of posters here like to pretend they don’t exist, but they do.

I just went through the entire thread. For the condition and symptoms he described people basically told him to relax and reduce penis activity. No one told him not to go to the doctor or even suggested he is imagining the situation.

The doctor basically told him there isn’t much to worry about.

What do you expect people here to do? Use a crystal ball and do medical diagnosis over the web. If he had banded himself like the gentleman in the other thread, everyone would be urging him to get medical attention.

What is the point of feeding the anxiety? If the guy has a serious concern then go to the doctor. Keep going to the doctor until you get an answer. What do you really expect people here to do?

I feel that the replies that where given where completely appropriate for what he described. Could the situation be more serious? Of course it can. However, if a guy was on a different forum complaining of a slight throbbing in the head when his kids scream and his wife nags, most people would tell him to relax and take an aspirin. If it is more serious go get medical help. I wouldn’t be sitting there and telling the guy it could be a stroke or a tumor or any other horrible life threatening condition. Especially when the vast majority of people would need to reduce anxiety in that situation.

I am not belittling any injury you or anyone else has suffered. If someone is seriously hurt then get medical attention. But all advice is situational.

There is an extremely slim chance that a doctor is going to do surgery on someone’s penis or pelvis for damaged blood vessels, nerves, tissue, etc. Doctors who say jelqing can’t do anything or is the same as masturbation are essentially condoning erect jelqing over the glans. I think the op is looking for advice or support from people who at least have some experience with pe.

Yup that’s what we have here; experience with PE. I got abut 10 years worth; how about you?

Agreed. The advice given was relax and take it easy on your penis. No laundry list of all the possible horrible things that could have been done.
