Time to take a break...Thrombosed Vein!!!

Time to take a break...Thrombosed Vein!!!

Damn, I am now among those that have had or have a thrombosed vein. This really sucks. I think I developed it this summer, as I decided to one day out of the blue start clamping again, but with no warm-up. Bad idea!

Anyway, I only clamped for a little bit this August, then I took 2 months off from PE, and then decided to start hanging, because I finally have my own place and some privacy. Unfortunately the vein came back, and has been progressively getting worse. I am now at the point where I am going to stop hanging until I heal my vein. This really sucks. I know Bib really recommends to not stop hanging if at all possible, but I really don’t think I can let this thing heal now at this point without stopping for a little while.

I don’t think it really ever fully healed from when I initially injured it, and the hanging is obviously setting it off more.

I started hanging again on October 26th. I’ve been hanging for 3 sets of 20 minutes a day. No days off. So about 7 hours a week, sometimes an extra hour on the weekends. I was recently up to 13 lbs, and hanging comfortably working out all the little necessary kinks (pinching, wrapping, toe in/toe out adjustments). I use a Bib Starter by the way.

After much research on the topic of Thrombosed veins my routine is now this.

-Apply Eroset’s Oil 2/day, once in the morning and once in the evening massaging it into the affected area for about 5 minutes.
-Aspirin 2 times per day (500 mg Aspirin morning, 500 mg night)
-1,000 mg Omega 3 Fatty Acids
-Rice sock heat wrap for 30 minutes a day at night

I just started this routine today. My goal is to keep doing this for 2 weeks, without any PE, and then see how far I’ve come in this time. If nothing changes, I think my next option will be to consult with a doctor, and maybe getting on blood thinning medications. Although I did purchase some Red Yeast Rice, which from my understanding is the same as market blood thinning medication. Right now I am not using this though.
Any other advice would greatly be appreciated.

I’m disappointed in myself for trying to do too much too fast, and injuring myself. I want gains but I am not going to risk the health of my penis to get there. I do not want to inflict long term damage to the vascularity of my penis, so I am going to hang it up until I can recover. I’ve learned my lesson to really take it easy and make sure I’ve warmed up my unit before doing any PE, and also not to jump into advanced exercises or routines until I”m ready. I can’t wait for this to heal up so I can start hanging again. As soon as I heal I plan on hanging for one year straight and no other forms of PE, just strictly length work. This is the 2nd time I’ve had to quit hanging right when I know I was on the verge of real gains! This is very frustrating, but eventually I will get back there, and be able to do this right.

I will be posting back to this thread in detail, to track my progress on my recovery. Again any advice is greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to get back as soon as possible, but at the same time I want to make sure I am really ready to go this time.

Two questions for anyone who’s been in my shoes.

1. Am I taking enough aspirin?
2. If you had a thrombosed vein and you were hanging, were you able to heal it without quitting hanging? Were you still able to hang, by maybe just using lower weight for a while?

Thanks guys,

PM

The real question is: do you actually have a thrombosed vein? Every time someone has a vein problem it’s automatically self-diagnosed as thrombosed. And now you’re self-treating as well.

The safest thing to do is stop all PE and let it rest. If you really want to know what the problem is, see a physician.

Aspirin won’t have a significant effect on your venous thrombosis. Platelet aggregation inhibitors, like aspirin, are usually used to battle arterial thrombosis that are mainly caused by damage in the blood vessels due to atherosclerosis.

Come to think of it, we might be damaging our penile blood vessels, including vains, enough that it could lead to platelet aggregation and thus thrombosis formation. So it could well have a role in preventing a venous thrombosis in the penis. However, this is very speculative.

Hello fellas,

Thanks for answering my post.

Westla, I understand your skepticism. I know a lot of guys post here thinking they have a thrombosed vein when they don’t. I’m fairly sure it is either a thrombosis or some type of lymph vessel swelling. It feels like a hard wiry guitar string, the classic symptom that others describe.

I posted on Bib’s site too regarding the matter, and I got some interesting feedback from Bib himself. He said that he has had a clogged lymph vessel before, but was able to hang through it. He said he just lowered the weight for a while, and eventually the thing just disappeared. This is reassuring, however, mine seems to be progressively getting worse, and I think as a result of hanging. So I’m kind of at a crossroads as to what I am going to do. Right now there is no pain involved. And I hate to give up hanging on hand, but on the other, do I really want to keep going until it does become painful and I inflict real damage?

I’ll keep you guys posted, I’m not really sure what I’m going to do at this point.

Also, thanks for your information as well Hardhead.

You might want to try a supplement called nattokinase. Nattokinase is an enzyme that acts as a clot buster and blood thinner. If you do decide to try this after researching it, I think you should stop the aspirin. You don’t want too many blood thinners acting at the same time.

The nattokinase I buy is Doctor’s Best, Best Nattokinase, 2,000 FUs, 90 Veggie Caps and I buy it from iherb.com. I take it for heart health, but if it cleans out heart arteries, it cleans out all arteries.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Thanks gprent, I will look into this.

I did read in another post on here about supplementing with Red Yeast Rice for a thrombosis. Has anyone had any good results with this or not?

Well so far so good.

The vein or lymph blockage, whatever it is, has not gone away, but it does not seem to be getting worse. I cut out the aspirin, and am now using Red Yeast Rice with Fish Oil (Omega 3 fatty acids), they don’t seem to be doing too much of anything. I’ll stay on the Red Yeast for another week, and the Fish Oils until I run out.

Otherwise, I’ve been active and hanging 15 lbs. BTC for 1 hour a day, with no problems, except sore ligs, which is a good sign. No pain from the thrombosed vein/lymph blockage.

Next week I bump up to 16 lbs. I”m thinking fairly soon between the 16-20 lbs. range is where my ligs are gonna start giving out, I hope anyway. But we’ll see. I think I have pretty strong ligs.

I worry about the high venous pressures damaging the valves of the veins. They aren’t designed to take repeated, sustained, unnaturally high back pressures. You can develop organ failure from chronic hypertension or venous/arterial blockages, so I do wonder what the pressures of jelquing can do. So many people jelq without disastrous side effects, but still there is not, and likely will never be, a clinical study available to assess the long term effects.

Fantom- Do you know much about the regenerative properties of veins? As far as I know, varicose veins (in the leg or anywhere else) are irreversible, but I am not clear on whether or not there is a gradient effect from a perfectly functioning vein to a fully varicose one- it seems to me that if you can keep the vein from becoming fully varicose, it should heal itself, similar to the way one can put a number of holes in the vein for injections and the like, but as long as you stay below the critical threshold of holes in the same time period, the venous walls heal over and are as good as new. But go too far and you have a collapsed vein.

Do you have a medical background? I would be interested in your opinion.

Red Yeast Rice

Here is an article that says what red yeast rice may once have had to lower cholesterol levels, it no longer has due to a different manufacturing process. What you are taking is probably having very little if any effect:

Why Is Red Yeast Rice So Controversial?

Yes, I think varicose veins could develop in the penis. That would be pretty awful.

This is also a good reason why ADS, with vacuum, is such a good way of penile enlargement. I think it is probably the safest and most foolproof way of PE, and is probably the only technique that could ever be routinely prescribed by doctors because of that.

Hello

I’ve been reading these posts to try to make myself more sensible when it comes to PE. I’m starting to get the message. I’m a newbie and it’s been suggested I should take things slower. Now I think I will. Thanks for posting.

Be careful. You could be overdoing it or doing it too hard. I would advise not to do either. If you use less intensity and it takes longer to gain would be better than permanently damaging your penis. Which is what I have done. Don’t try to gain as quick as possibly and don’t stress your penis too much. I know sometimes you don’t know if your overdoing it but this is one of the signs you should rest now and if you don’t improve see a doctor and take it slowly and take it easy or it’ll just harm you in the long run.

Update:

This thing still hasn’t gone away. Well, I admit I stopped taking and doing all the things I listed that I was doing to get rid of it pretty quickly. And I decided to keep on hanging. I found out a few weeks ago that I had been hanging wrong for about 2 months. I was placing my hanger too close to the head, and the hanger was slipping over the head because it wasn’t gripping the ‘shoulders’ of the penis. But the thrombosis/lymph blockage thing wasn’t really a problem, but it never went away.

Anyway, I have since corrected the hanging situation, and am now haning correctly. Problem is, I think it is aggravating this condition I have. I am starting to get sharp pains in my flaccid shaft during the day, about 3-5 times throughout the day. As a result, I quite hanging a few days ago. I did some more research, and most doctors have recommend using Aspirin to get rid of a Vein thrombosis, stating that it takes about 4-6 weeks. So my new plain is to listen to my body, take 6 weeks off, using Aspirin, to try and nip this thing in the bud. I don’t want this to be an ongoing problem. What’s the point of having a bigger cock if you can’t use it. I can wait awhile longer before I go after growing my cock.

Hopefully come March 8th, I’ll be healed up and ready to go again. So I won’t be around here for a little bit. Gives me time to play my guitar instead of with my cock for a while.

Also, I have a doctor friend I will go to in 6 weeks if things don’t heal up.
