Anti depressants

Start with the mouth and work your way down a stop/start chart like motor control to correct these problems.

As I said before DHEA is a enzymatic reaction preceded by along with at LEAST 325 others off MAGNESIUM, including Thyroid as well.

I`m not sure I understand.

I would sincerely appreciate your clarification `teaser, as this is an important challenge for me.

Shit, I never understand any of twatteaser’s posts. But I know (or at least believe) they’re probably important. I’m just stupid.

Forget the pill. Some good bud will do you better. You’ll feel happy, you will be a horny motherfucker, and you won’t kill yourself if you run out. You will still have the same problems that got you depressed in the first place, but you won’t remember what they were. :cancer:

Very true, I know this from personal experience. I would also watch the alcohol intake. 1 or 2 drinks at most, at most.

Is it possible that therapists tend to see more individuals that have failed with medication? So, basically, you’re seeing biased results against medication. As someone who has worked in a more pro-drug environment, I have also seen patients who did not have success with therapy. But obviously my perspective is also biased. One can argue that they didn’t get the proper therapy but the same argument can be given for drug therapy. They didn’t try the right drug/dose/duration. I’m guessing, you’re saying the same thing or would you disagree?

Myself, I had CBT but my therapist didn’t know what she was doing. She was book-educated but had to clue how to deal with real patients. Right now, I’m seeing a semi-retired older psychiatrist who prescribes drugs and does therapy and at least he seems to connect with his patients. But, I’m not sure even if this will be enough to alleviate my relatively mild (but nevertheless, bothersome) anxiety. I also do group therapy. I have done it before but with roles reversed. Now, I’m the patient.

That is a reasonable observation. Most of my clients are professional people under job stress, and families in crisis, most of whom have had little or no other therapy or counselling, and have gone to their G.P. First off and found meds.

I find it difficult to do cognitive work with anyone too heavily medicated.

I am a certified hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner using transactional analysis as a base for most of my work, as I feel that most people are able to become good T.A. Analysts in one session, which begins to permeate their awareness of the self in their situation.

all Wellbuturin by itself did for me was give me premature ejaculation and make me very angry. I added Lexapro and felt better then I had in years. I have delayed orgasm but it’s only bad if I drink. My wife is worn out by the time I get done , but that seems to be a good thing. I use to take paxcil which worked for a long time then petered out. It got to where the Paxcil was making me worse.

Sometimes SSRIs are prescribed for premature ejaculation. So if you have that problem and anxiety/depression (anxiety can cause premature ejaculation) an SSRI can occassionally help with both. Another drug for premature ejaculation though is clomipramine, but it has more side-effects.

For what it’s worth the combo of benzos plus opiates was the best but most dangerous combo for my anxiety. I had free access to any medication I wanted and this was my downfall, I suppose, as I tried every possible drug combination to alleviate my anxiety. I’d never recommend that combo because it can kill you due to the risk of respiratory depression. The opiates are also initially good for depression from what I’ve read but eventually they make your depression far worse as tolerance occurs. In fact, mild depression will sometimes seem like an inconvenience compared to the hell that opiates can take you to. Just my opinion.

You didn’t get from my post that I had premature ejaculation did you? I developed it from taking Wellbutrin.

Wellbutrin isn’t an SSRI. It’s a NDRI (norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor). It’s sometimes used for those who experience sexual side-effects from SSRIs and can cause an increase in libido as one of its side-effects. This is the opposite of SSRIs. SSRIs can sometimes decrease libido or cause delayed ejaculation so they’re used for one suffering from premature ejaculation.

Wellbutrin (an NDRI) can sometimes increase libido and lead to premature ejaculation.

Your right, I didn’t read your post right. I believe the combo I’m taking cancel each others side effects. I have more drive now but have delayed ejaculation. My wife said some of her friends would love to have that problem.

If you get bored you can Google the shit out of magnesium and depression or magnesium and anxiety. So many websites to look around a few kookier than the others.

I learned about it during one of my great book buying extravaganza this late spring.
I had the Miracle of Magnesium, Trans dermal Magnesium Therapy, & the Magnesium factor. I learned due the blood pressure and circulatory issues that I had.

scroll down to the bullet points.

So low magnesium means you have issues with thyroid, melatonin, serotonin, etc…. OMG! But according to normal shithole Medicine, no one is low in Magnesium ever. Considering that an American Physician receives $60,000 in marketing vomited on him by a drug company any non pharmacological patented answer must be insanity.

What Does Mg Do and Why Do Our Bodies Need It?

Magnesium is needed for more than 325 enzymatic reactions, including those involved in the synthesis of fat, protein, and nucleic acids, neurological activity, muscular contraction and relaxation, cardiac activity, and bone metabolism. Even more important is magnesium’s pivotal role in both anaerobic and aerobic energy production, particularly in the metabolism of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the "energy currency" of the body.

But before you even do anything with a supplement, there is one line of questions you must answer. Do you have indigestion, heartburn, or GERD? If so, start there. ALT theories are that one is actually LOW in digestive acids, yet the doctor gives acid reducer out to stop the burn caused by a shitty esophageal sphincter or hiatus hernia. If you have low qacid and keep reducing it, how are you supposed to digest anything by mouth ever?

Extremely interesting, and thanks `teaser, I appreciate your thoughtful response.

I have struggled with anxiety related asthma in athletics my whole life. I played competitive football (soccer in the US.) and had youth trials in Britain in the `70s and struggled some times to get air and felt like I was beginning to panic while on the field.

Even today I have episodes while on the pitch and take 5mg of ephedrine before each game which seems to help, but I`m reading now that ephedrine may cause neuro-transmitter problems.

Magnesium citrate or tartrate will be first on my shopping list this morning.

Thanks again for taking the time to post a useful response.

Mgnesium comes in a shitload of different forms and carriers. Magnesium in most cases will give you the shits if taken orally. Since intravenous is too hard for the average Joe to do by himself. I found Magnesium Oil (Magnesium Chloride) to take transdermally and soak it in, bypassing all these issues. Magnesium Sulfate is Epsom Salts and are less powerful and taken transdermally.

Your best bet is to get a hold of one of the three books I mentioned to see how it should work for your situation.
