Body's own synthesis of Nitric Oxide hampered by long term use of L-Arginine?

Iv been using 1800mg pr day for some months now, together with minerals, vitamins and of course omega3. Can’t say I’ve noticed anything very different. I never get sick or nothing anyways, but ill hype it up in my brain and take whatever placebo I can squeeze out.

Almost no supplements are approved by the FDA: they are marketed as natural heath products and are therefore not required to be approved. This includes vitamin C pills and stuff btw.

Also just because something is a supplement to what is already in your diet doesn’t mean you don’t have to cycle it: creatine needs to be cycled, and its found in decent amounts in meat and other normal food products.

I would say from a common sense standpoint that you should cycle l-arginine.

You’re making a point. Guess I’m off the arginine for now :P ordered alot of other herbs too, but the customs won’t let me have them. Guess I’m in for some angry mailing

By the way you mentioned creatine, what kind of effects would no cycling long term use bring? Because unrelated to PE more of a bodybuilding thing, people around here are eating those pills heavy :P

I would really like someone to say “It can’t be the Nitric Oxide. You are cold and tired because .” but this does concern me. Erections are difficult for me to obtain, but I attribute that to my non-existant libido. However, my absence of libido may be due to my chronic fatigue.

AAKG and L-Arginine are not the same thing. Sorry, don’t want to get into a dispute here, so if you don’t agree, that is okay, but I know the metabolic pathway and the bottom line is this: AAKG gets converted into an excitotoxin by the body when consumed. AKG is metabolized into glutamate. Glutamate is an excitotoxin. It WILL cause the symptoms you described, because it damages nerve cells, very similar to diabetic neuropathy. That is what you are experiencing, and several recent studies indicate this. The regular L-Arginine will not. Eliminate the AAKG, and your symptoms should disappear within a month, as the damage is repaired.

Hope that helps.

Really? This is news to me. The small amount of research I did, and when I asked the guy I bought it off, implied both were effectively the same. Interesting, do you have a source?

Reading Thunders makes me feel like I’m in a chemistry lab.

In any event — most sources I’ve read do suggest that you cycle L-Arginine. I do 2 months on / 3 months off. It has worked well so far for me. The first day or two back on I get an upset stomach though.

I didn’t know about this… but it probably explains why I can’t do shit lately unless I have my daily glass of Arginine Ethyl Ester and AAKG (which I affectionately call ‘toilet cleaner’ - cos thats how it tastes).
