Hello, I take citrulline malate to benefit my erectile strength, and it has been working very well for me. In addition to producing a stronger and (I believe) more sensitive feel, I think it’s also making me horny, as people are increasingly more attractive now for no reason (unless it’s the weather). Also, it is making my workout sessions become more fluid and easy.

I only take 2 grams at a time, usually once a day, sometimes twice.

However, I was scrolling through the internet searching for benefits and side-effects to this, because I had been considering taking more of it. I came across a site in which a person questions the side-effects of this supplement.

The question was:
“What are the risks of citrulline malate?”

The answer to this question was:
“Taken for too great a time it can reduce and permanently destroy the body’s ability to make its own NO leaving user with permanent erectile dysfunction.”

Can anybody discredit this? What is “too great a time”? Could this stuff actually disable the body from producing it’s own nitric oxide? I don’t really believe this, but it’s making me a bit weary.

This sounds like what I have heard called “bro science”. It is the kind of thing you hear passed around at the gym, in the locker rooms, in casual conversation about fitness and nutrition, and in online forums. Until somebody can show you or name a scientific study or two that supports this, I’d chalk it up as garbage. But, as with any supplements, anytime I’ve used up a tub, or bottle, I lay off for a few weeks.
