Prepare for another potentially long-winded post from me. Sorry but I’ve learned some things over the last month and want to brain dump this.
First the short answer. Try 0.4ml . In my experience the liquids is slightly less potent than brand name cialis pills. I suspect it has something to do with the way the liquid tadalafil can be a bit foamy so your measured dose may be a bit padded with air.
Gently shake the bottle to mix it. Draw your dose with the syringe from the bottom of the bottle (it’s foamy on top.) 0.4ml is supposed to be 12mg but I believe it’s about equivalent to roughly 9-10mg of brand name Cialis. It’s just a good starting dose where it’s definitely not too little, and not too much.
I recommend not taking 20mg or 30mg your first time. You’ll potentially end up with 3 days of side effects including a dull 72-hour long headache without any actual additional benefit. And personally, 15mg seems to be the maximum effective dose for me. Above that I don’t really see any added benefit (just more side effects and lasts longer.) You’re welcome to try higher doses, but I would suggest not doing that the first few times until you’re comfortable with potential side effects because if you have bad side effects, you’re gonna have them for days. Some guys just don’t really have any side effects even at >20mg, so it depends.
Now for deeper info on tadalafil.
1) Higher doses of Cialis don’t necessarily work better, they just last longer. There is probably a minimum effective dose which may vary from person to person, but above that you’re really just going to extend the length of time it works, not improve the effectiveness. That effective dose can be a low as 5mg.
2) Higher doses are going to increase side effects. Lower doses you may have little to no side effects. Personally I don’t have much of any side effects around 10mg but at 15mg I have headaches. At 20mg it’s quite annoying. Mostly headache in my case, but I’ve had muscle soreness too at 20mg.
3) Tadalafil actually works better when taken daily vs. a single does:
http://www.ncbi .nlm.nih.gov/pm … les/PMC2939761/
"Tadalafil has linear pharmacokinetics over the dose range of 2.5–20 mg.12 A steady state of tadalafil is reached after 5 days of daily administration, with a plasma concentration that is roughly 1.6 times higher than that of a single dose.12 In other words, cumulative plasma exposure at steady state of a 5-mg daily dose corresponds roughly to an 8-mg on-demand dose."
*One thing I’ve done is take .4ml (12mg) the first day as a one-off. Then for several subsequent day .2ml to maintain. I did this because when I was going to have sex was unpredictable. It’s something you can try when you’re ready, if you think you’re going to need that way. Usually I don’t have sex more often than every 4-5 days so "daily" is a bit lost on me. It’s also one reason I’m trying all of other ED meds (viagra, levitra, stendra) for shorter more on-demand short-term use.
4) Tadalafil works best if taken hours ahead. I try to take it at least 4 hours ahead, preferably 5-6 hours. Minimum of 1-2.
http://www.ncbi .nlm.nih.gov/pm … les/PMC2939761/
"Upon administration, it reaches the maximum plasma concentration in 2 hours. Although peak concentrations take 2 hours, the onset of action has been reported within 15 minutes of dosing and the efficacy may persist for up to 36 hours."
5) It kind of goes with #3, but I actually have better results 24 with it the next day. There is a latent effect where the longer it’s in your system, the more effective it is. I’ve also had the effects last after the 36 hours when it’s supposed to be gone (when I’ve taken higher doses like 15-20mg.)
I hope this is informative and not too annoying.
