Does arginine make you irritable

I have been taking five grams of arginine powder that I manually put into caps each day, and I’m really irritable in the last week, even though physically hi feel great.

Could. It be the arginine?

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

I’ve worked in the supplement industry for about 6 years and have never had anyone complain of irritability from arginine. I also take 5-10 grams a day and do not notice any increased irritability.

However I don’t consider myself an expert by any means so hopefully others can give you a more definitive answer.

I noticed an increase in grumpiness taking BCAA’s even though I felt great physically when taking them.

Maybe other AA’s have a similar affect.

I feel physically excellent but irritable, which is indicative of a testosterone spike (in menopausal women at least) and concurrent with the taking of 5 grams or so of arginine recently.

I love the physical well-being, but value my mood and patience more so unless this mood is a lunar effect, then I might have to back off on the arginine.

Arginine has been shown in some studies to increase HGH when taken pre workout or before bed, but I haven’t read anything that I recall saying it can increase test. I personally love the “pissed” feeling I get when my test levels are soaring!!! Feel like a super saiyan! (see how many nerds that comment brings out) :-)

What is the correlation between amount of arginine in blood and HGH increasing? I’ve read that should be monstrual dosage of L-Arginine to produce significant more HGH, but without any facts.

Is there any articles which tell how much should it be taken to increase HGH about twice for example?

I don’t have links to any articles, but I recall reading the correlation between HGH increase and arginine in Muscular Development magazine on many different occasions, I recall the dose being used as 5 grams preworkout, as far as total amount of HGH increase I don’t recall. I do however remember that it was blatantly stated that the increase only occurred when taken pre-workout or before bed. However if you lift hard and sleep deep enough your HGH increases anyway. I’m not to concerned with the overall increase in HGH from arginine as Im sure it isn’t a very high increase i just like it for the vasodilation.

Hmm that’s okay. It’s better to get a partial answer than nothing at all. Squats and HIIT training naturally increase the HGH level and this is good info for most of us. Sorry for off topic.

About irritation; I haven’t heard about it. Also, it is believed that man (don’t know if women also) with good sense of humour got higher testosterone level.

What do you think about ULTRA ANIMAL pack?

I went to GNC and bought some L-Arganine powder bc of what people were saying about it on these forums. Personally I found that it consistently messed with my sleep, which I found more disruptive to my healing after sessions. Even when I would take lower than the recommended dose right when I woke up in the mornings, I was still unable to get quality sleep at night. When I did, I could not achieve deep sleep and felt half awake the whole time. So I’ve given up on it for now. That was just my experience though, many people are able to take it and have great sleep and great results - my sleep is just rather sensitive. For the most part I’ve heard great things from people using it for PE and also for weight training.

I took Animal Pak for a while in highschool, back when I knew jack shit about proper fitness or dieting - I just took it bc I thought it would make me bigger and stronger. I found it a massive pain in the ass to take the 11 pills in each pak daily, some of them were massive and very difficult to swallow - like a horse pill. The smell and taste is also overwhelmingly atrocious. Oftentimes I would take the pills, feel nauseous afterward and lose my appetite. I didn’t notice a difference from 1.5 months of taking it other than my piss being extremely bright yellow (probably due to vitamin B in the supplement). I was lifting a 5 day split weight program at the time, and didn’t notice an increase in size or strength. I haven’t looked into the pak lately but I would guess that the amounts in each pak are way overkill. Great vitamins can be bought from a good grocery store like Whole Foods or Sprouts (walmart has some decent stuff, but then again not really - for example, their Calcium supps are largely Calium Carbinate, instead of more ideal sources like Calcium Citrate, etc). These days I’m always hesitant to take vitmains where the % Daily Value is in the 1000’s or higher, lol. Just seems like massive overkill and a lot of hard work for my liver.

Make sure you drink plenty of water when you take L-arginine A-Unit.

I have taken L-arginine and L-citrulene for many months now. I have not noticed any irritability not loss of sleep. I do drink plenty of water during the day. I also take them either an hour before eating or an hour after eating. I also take them just at time time of retiring.
