How long for L-arginine to kick in

Hm.. Very nice post northof60 I appreciate it very much. I can’t have my T levels drop, that is what allows me to gain muscle effortlessly. I”m still not getting any feelings for changes with the amino acid so I see no reason to continue. Once again northof60, thanks.

Reading through the links that northof60 posted, I see quite a bit of controversy with regards to the supposed negative effects. On the bodybuilding forums, there are quite a few who are in opposition to the article written in the first link. Is there any corroborating evidence to support or refute these claims? Before we freak out, lets make sure there is enough data.

People don’t like to feel duped. So when they read that the stuff they just bought for $80 bucks doesn’t work they resist believing. I look at it this way. There is little reason to write an article telling you that something doesn’t work. And this is a very well written and researched article. You can’t make money telling people something doesn’t do anything.

I’m not on either side of this issue. I just see people around here speaking as though arginine DOES increase bloodflow. Not so fast - it MIGHT but it might not.

I’ve been through two bottles and I don’t think it has done much for me - maybe a little. But I don’t think it is worth the cost and I wouldn’t recommend it. There are better things to spend your money on.

Well if it lowers your test, there are products out there to raise it back up :)

I’m not for products that boost hormones because then doesn’t your body stop producing it’s own, like with roids. So if you go off of the hormone producing drug then your screwed and need hormone therapy. I like to raise my T levels naturally even though I don’t really need to because I think I scored a 505 when I got tested last year. But, exercise, rest and peanuts or any nuts will do to raise the T levels. I just wish I could get my levels tested again (insurance problems). I want mine HIGH but not too high where I’d lose my hair, but I guess every man wants that.

I have very good success with 1000 mg on empty stomach 3x a day. The problem now is that the darn thing gets too hard for PE and stretching. So, I just started on clamping. I have about a 6 months break and it softened it too much that I can only attain about 80 percent erection and it motivated me to use it again. The 1000 mg gives me heartburn before discovering to chew them to pieces and drinking it with water. I don’t take it unless I’m hungry and then wait another 45 minutes before eating.

On my own personal experience, I only NOTICED arginines effects whilst off the stuff. I have been taking it for a year or so, and did not realise it’s amazing effects until I stopped taking it for some reason. I mean i personally take a less dose than that, at about 1-2 MAX per day, so no need to up your dosage, just be patient and persistent. Well anyway, while I was off the stuff and I was banging my girl it just really wasn’t the same! I must of had 2-3 weeks off, and unintentionally didn’t stock up on arginine. When I realised my performance had decreased it came to me, it was the arginine!:D . So basically my advice to you is, keep it up a little longer, bang your girl, then come off the stuff for one or two weeks. When you get back on it, you’ll soon see the benefits ;) .

I actually have been off it for two weeks. Nothing has changed with my body I feel stupid because I bought this bottle but at least I didn’t buy a second one. My erections are always strong and my loads are, well I haven’t measured it but it’s a pretty good amount. I just wanted to see if I could make more. Maybe some people just get better or get results from this thing and some don’t. Maybe I’m a none responder.

Hi everyone:) ,I’m new to this forum,But not new to PE,Here’s what I’ve found out from my own experience with amino acid supplements,You can’t take just one thing,Such as Arginine,and expect it to work wonders,You must combine it with other stuff too,Every morning I have a cup of whole mik and some cottage cheese and a cup of grape juice for breakfast,I have these gel-caps containing powdered gelatin,This stuff is made of several different amino acids,Including L-Arginine:) <p>I untwist three caps and mix it in with the cottage cheese,I know it works because for the past two days I’ve been out of tea and have had to go back to coffee for my dopamine fix,I had also stopped taking my gelatin,Well yesterday morning I had it again and it brought me such a thick,healthy erection:D ,It totally reversed the slight shrinkage caused by coffee,And btw,Each cap is 778 mg,Of which not all is just Arginine,Not a huge dose,Yet it works great,I think that’s because I’m taking it in a balanced form,And it’s only about 12$ a bottle of 60 capsules:)

I take 1g once or twice a day mainly for nerve & circulatory problems “carpal tunnel” with B vits/B-6 it certainly helps. Don’t know really about the bodybuilding aspect.
I believe it also enhance’s erections along with a small amount of V and C.

Look, I love T-nation but even many of the so-called experts probably have never even spent a lecture in a biochem class.

For example, after Arthur DeVany was interviewed there, claiming that it was best NOT to drink a high glycemic sports drink because it blocks the release of Growth Hormone, one of the experts posted a link to a study PROVING that GH was not influenced by such. The study the EXPERT alluded too (I ACTUALLY READ THE STUDY) was done on 7 subjects and the controls were weak. It looked like a preliminary study to perhaps generate interest for a larger study. Look 7 subjects and weak controls do not make for a conclusive study. DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING….even serious looking studies can be flawed.
