My prostate?

123

Actually I am! I am still astonished at simple water doing this. I have not had any soda or tea since I started. I have drank beer but made up for it by equaling each glass of beer with two glasses of water.

When I started drinking water I had no idea I was this dehydrated! I piss about the same or slightly less, but don’t have the partial bladder piss problem really.

If my prostate is bad could I stop peeing in mid stream? Or have some trouble or pain doing this? I have not tried or attempted this test yet?

Thanks for the help again!

Very little drinking except on the weekends! I do some PC exercises but stopped fearing it was causing or hindering this piss problem. Where did you learn that water was the cure? Just curious! TT

Back in my heavy drinking days, used to dehydrate myself while working a construction job and saw some of the same symptoms that you were reporting. The PC exercises will actually help you, but I would wait a week or so before starting them. Also, IF after staying on the water awhile and you still are having problems, get your ass to a Doc, better to be safe than sorry. And try to make the habit of drinking water become permanent. It is good for you in many ways.

Hi there TT !

I wouldn’t have thought you should have a major dehydration problem where you live. If you were in Arizona or India or somewhere hot, then Yes !
Even so, the “drink more water” theme is obviously good advice, not forgetting what I also said above and in my emails.

Answering the above Q: Prostate troubles come in different flavours. It could be that your bladder neck is stopping your piss flow, but then if so, you would expect the bladder sensing to let you know pretty quick that you need to go again. This is referred to by Uro’s as “incomplete emptying”, and affects us “oldies” more than you young bucks !
Nevertheless, your bladder neck is actually exactly where your prostate starts, so it’s involvement is of course the first suspect, but like I said, probably not at your age, unless you got one of the STD’s or something like that (only you will know!) As you also say you did not get laid recently (how I feel for you - join the club !), probably that is not the reason either.

Pee-ing in mid stream flow: Your present Q.
Opinions seem to differ on this question. When I had BP a year or so back, I was told NOT to try to stop my flow if I could avoid it. The problem then was actually finding the courage to get it started, due to the terrible pain of BP. ! But actually, Kegels are all about flexing the PC muscles, which is supposed to be a good thing - Yes ? We are told to do as many of these as we can in a day, which seems to be good advice, again specially for us oldies, who are prone to problems of the prostate when we reach 40 or so. I think the thoughtful answer has to be this:
When you know that you really DO have a prostate problem, OR there is any sort of pain in your perineal area (that’s the bit between your balls and your arsehole), then you should be thinking seriously about the cause, and taking necessary action.
If you have that kind of pain at any time, then, probably then, you should not be aggravating things by doing too many kegels. If on the other hand you do NOT have any prostatic or perineal pain, then YES, you should (even at your age!) be doing some sets of daily kegels to maintain your PC muscle tone.

Please also bear in mind: Pain in the genital or rectal, or bladder areas, may be due to a cause unrelated to these parts, it could be referred pain from somewhere else using either the same nerve tracts or their secondary paths. For example, I get pains in my perineal area quite a lot, but these, and the associated “bladder problems” which come and go, are in fact reckoned (by my Uro) to be more likely due (now) to an old spinal disc injury which I got 25 yrs ago following a bad road crash. The prostatitis, in my case simply resulted from an intercurrent bacterial infection following pneumonia !

Hope this helps ?

Keep in touch please - we are concerend for you !
