Read Supplement Labels Carefully, Kidney Stones!
Well I woke up 7:30 this morning, brushed my teeth and while scratching my head I began my morning urination. About half way through it I feel a lot of pressure and a burning sensation. I immediately became terrified, was it an STD, no it couldn’t have been I haven’t had sex. What could it be, then it hit me, those two dreaded words came into view “kidney stones”. I am a young guy, 19, how did I get kidney stones?!! I’ve never had them before and I’ve never had any problems down there. Anyway I freaked because I couldn’t urinate and the pressure was building and my dick was on fire and the world was spinning (it felt like it). I raced to my computer to look for advice, going to the doctor should be avoided if one can pass the stones on their own mainly because they can’t do anything but make you loopy and will only resort to extreme measures (measures I was willing to take, and didn’t seem so extreme at the time) if the stones are too big to pass. This however isn’t determined until after many hours of suffering waiting to see if you can pass them on your own. So I’m like fuck, I don’t want to go anywhere where they would doing the exact same thing I would be doing (drinking lots of fluids) here, where I would be even more uncomfortable. I think heat must be my friend, so I hop in the shower and point it at my bladder. I just opened Pandora’s box guys, the fire began burning intensely at which point I’m yelling “Fuck me Fuck me!”. The pain was traveling down my penis and right before it reached the tip I couldn’t piss anymore, Fuck. I looked at the tip of my penis and I saw a dozen little white rocks, my fears were confirmed. I began chugging water and about 5 minutes later I had go again. I wanted to know what they were made of so before I went again I grabbed a cup, then I let the guy loose and it was almost like I ejaculated into the cup (it was more of an explosion then a constant stream of piss). There was a large amount of rock in the cup but fortunately they were broken up and little. I’m still drinking water and I am drinking lime juice (apparently acidic liquids help dissolve kidney stones) on occasion. I’ve been through at least a gallon and half just in the 3 hours I’ve been awake. I feel uncomfortable but no pressure or pain, Thank you thank you thank you. I didn’t need to go to the hospital. Now as for the cause, I’ve posted in here twice the supplements I’m taking in other threads.
Carlson’s Fish Oil gels (2)
Action Lab’s Horny Goat Weed (2)
GNC Pygeum (2)
Centrum Performance/ or Rainbow Light Men’s One Multivitamin (1)
3000mg of L-Arginine of Nitruline (3)
Twinlab’s ZMA (3)
See the ZMA, see the Rainbow Light Men’s One Multivitamin, they both carry (individually) 133% of your daily dose of ZINC so I’m intaking 266% of a healthy daily intake of ZINC.

*This is what best fits what came out of my penis, it was white but hackly fracturing and small.Thank god it wasn’t a Whewellite Jackstone!
WHITLOCKITE is very rarely found in the urinary system, but it is the most common mineral found in prostate stones. It is a calcium phosphate with small amounts of magnesium, Ca9(Mg,Fe)H(PO4)7, and its occurrence may be stabilized by trace amounts of zinc. Prostate fluid has a very high zinc content. The mineral is a resinous, brown, hackly-fracturing material, and it commonly forms multiple small stones in the prostate. Mineral Name Index
Point is I shouldn’t be taking a fucking Multivitamin and ZMA when the mutlivitamin provides more then enough ZINC, and I should have read the bottles thoroughly!
Nox2, no correlation to kidney stones, actually if it’s an oxalate it may be at the root of this, prevention on wiki states that one should have “A diet low in protein, NITROGEN and sodium intake”
Horny Goat Weed, no correlation
Fish Oil, proven to help reduce the risk or prevent kidney stones from occuring
Pygeum, no correlation
which leaves the multivitamin and ZMA
A kidney stone can be created from any number of things, but mainly it boils down to too many minerals at one time clumped together and crystallize. Calcium Oxalate being at the top of the list. I do have dairy in my diet but Damn! I have never had this before and my diet hasn’t radically changed, except that I am eating more. I don’t whether it’s diet or supplement but since I’ve only been using the supplements for a week and a half I think they are responsible.
I hope none of you have to go through this, it’s terrifying and painful. Anyway learn from my newbie mistake if you are just now taking new supplements check to make sure you are not overdosing in any one area.
Take Care,
-C.D.
