Any of you guys use it? It’s suppose to help with hair lose that is caused from DHT, so what’s the deal does it help and would it hurt muscle gains if you took it. And what about putting saw palmetto in liquid form right on your scalp would that help would it be absorbed or not. I still have my hair but it is starting to thin in the front and it seems when I start working heavy at the gym and I take any supplements it seems to get thinner. Sometimes being a guy sucks!

I’ve been taking 180 mg/day for about 8 mos for prostate insurance. Can’t say it does anything for hair gain. Haven’t lost any, though.

I have seen same “Stack Supplements” that contains pro-hormones together with Saw Palmetto. I don´t think they would stack Pro-hormones with Saw Palmetto if it would hurt muscle gains.

I’ve been wondering about topical application too, and I haven’t found anything on the web about it. Nonetheless, I’ve made a shampoo that includes saw palmetto. I start with this Shen Min shampoo (). Then I squirt in Saw Palmetto elixir. (I use a non-alcohol type made by these people Gaia Herbs® Official Site: Herbal Supplements & More: Gaia Herbs®) I also add some peppermint oil and a little cayenne pepper oil.

I shake all that up and leave it in my hair for at least five minutes while I shave and jelq. I’m not sure how much it’s helping my hair. I do seem to have more hair now than my older brothers had at this age, but that’s probably a matter of lifestyle too: I eat more essential fatty acids and have had fewer divorces. The shampoo has also eliminated any dandruff.

Thanks guys! Ike it is in some formulas I was using this stuff that had it but it was expensive the shit did work though it made my hair really thick while I was using it.

I take it for prostate enlargement. It definitely helps with some of the problems associated with BPH. I lost my hair years ago, so that is not a consideration for me.

I’ve taken saw palmetto for years mainly as insurance too. It’s available in two forms, one is dry and combined with other ‘prostate factors’ and the other is oil in a gelatin capsule. I thought once that the ‘prostate factors’ approach seemed like a good way to go, but after a while I noticed that I wasn’t urinating as easily as before, and I got the other type and VOILA! I was pissing like a racehorse.

Unfortunately, I cannot say definitively that it does work. I made up my own topical a while back because my hair started to come out at an alarming rate, but the rate of hair loss seemed to decline to normal before I got my topical together. I think now the hair loss was a telogen effluvium caused by surgery I had a few months prior to the episode.

Even though the hair loss seemed to abate, I applied the topical to the temple area, just on one side, twice a day for 3 months. I did not notice systematic effects, such as a loss of libido, and the application site seemed to have a fuller appearance than the other side, but I did not really notice this until a few months after I stopped using the cream.

The dermovan base is viscous, and consequently difficult to apply if you have long or thick hair. To make the topical is straightforward.
