Soy protein?

Soy protein?

I have heard that soy protein increases the estrogen levels in your body over time. Does anyone know the effects of soy protein on PE/Gains? Assumably it would have a negative effect, but I would like to clarify if and what those effects are.

The kinds of soy protein I’m reffering to are the: soy-protein bars, soy-protein shakes, soy milk, and general food products that have a high concentration of soy-protein isolate.

If anyone could clear this up for me that would be awesome! Thanks.

I recently did a bit of research on this subject because I was worried about the amount of soy products I was consuming( my girlfriend is a veggie so I eat her snacks when I can’t be bothered to cook! ). The overall conclusion seemed to be that all though there are estrogens in soy you must remember they are plant estrogens and will have little to no effect on human hormonal levels.

Phytoestrogens, like isoflavones in soy are estrogenic compounds. I can not speak to what they do exactly, but a pubmed or JAMA search might help.

My hunch is that estrogenics are generally bad. I use whey protein and I stay away from the soy.

I take it you are allergic to milk products or are lactose intolerant?

If not, I think the preferred protein would whey protein and use fat free milk. Some soy in your diet is not going to hurt you, but if you can choose between soy and whey, choose whey.

SOY is a natural DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) blocker; this is the good stuff for penis growth. The Penis gets flooded with it during an erection increasing the NO2 levels allowing for more expansion. During puberty DHT and HGH along with Testosterone are the building blocks of male characteristics. High levels of DHT due have their side effects; enlarged prostate and male/ Female balding. However, during an erection the body produces it’s own PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) blockers which control the amount of DHT. The point is buy “Whey Protein” and let the women drink their SOY.

Women shouldn’t eat soy either, unless they are wanting to embrace a celibate lifestyle. We need testosterone for libido too, you know. Soy is evil.
