Ultimate mass gain supplement?

Hi guys, I am in desperate need of your help. For about 5 years I have been trying to gain huge mass because I am so short and skinny but to no prevail. I am a hard gainer and I have been trying to do it without supplements until recently because I have quite a serious bowel disorder and I don’t want to disrupt it.

I have asked the doctor and he says that I can try the supplements for muscle building aslong as I leave out the creatine. (Damn, I know this stuff works and it’s gonna be harder without it).

So, what I need is for you guys to please help me find the best supplement which doesn’t use creatine. I can still get huge with glutamine peptide, l-arginine and maybe some others right? I eat plenty so that isn’t a problem, I eat healthy stuff and lots of it… including carbs, protein and healthy fats. Is there a supplement that has a very strong effect on muscle building which incorporates things like glutamine in it? It has to be safe for me, no dodgy stuff with untested chemicals. :P

I would really appreciate any help you guys could give, I want to be big and I don’t want to feel like not taking creatine is ruining my chances to bodybuild with the big guys.

JS

EDIT: A complete supplement with everything in it, along with whey protein would kickass, but I doubt life is that simple right?

Something you might want to add in your food choices is peanut butter if you haven’t already.

If you’re eating enough food you don’t need the use of supplements.

I’d only waste your money on them if you find it really hard to get your meals in during the day, because of work restrictions etc. If you want to gain mass, you HAVE to eat simple as. Why do you need ‘a complete supplement with everything in it’? That sounds like some miracle product.

If you’re eating plenty, taking multi-vitamins, drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest. Then the only reason I can come to as to why you’re not gaining is because you’re not lifting hard/heavy enough.

There is no supplement that will make you gain mass. Some might help, but the only things you need are plenty of food, intense training and rest.

Don’t waste your $$$.

I want to have the body of a WCW wrestler or something, lol. I have been trying without supplements perfectly for 5 years, and I don’t worry about not lifting heavy enough… I am the smallest guy in the gym by far and I always have to raise the weights when using equipment after the huge guys. The strength is fine, but the size of me is stupid.

Ultimate mass gain supplement for hard gainers = food diary.

Sorry my friend but no magic supplements exists. If you eat smart and healthy and in excess of what your body needs to maintain its current state on top of working out hard but smart you will gain. I know that this is a bitter pill to swallow but it is being given from one hard gainer to another.

I would suggest that you stop trying to gain huge mass and looking for a "secret" sup that will make the difference. Invest the time in learning how to eat properly. For a hard gainer, once you know how to lift, lifting is the easy part. A home made bench, less money than you would spend on a date for some used dumbells plus 90 minutes a week lifting and you will get bigger if you eat right.

Are you utilizing your window of opportunity right before and after a work out to load up on easily digested carbs/protein? Have you actually tried eating every three hours or so of the right type of food for a good 6-7 meals a day? Until you learn how to do it and get used to it diet is a cosmic bitch for hard gainers.

I don’t know what your bowel disorder is so check with your doc first but the one thing you might want to consider is some type of Probiotics .

I don’t want to offend you by saying this as I know you are all trying to help, but you all seem to be patronising me. I have had a lot of experience in bodybuilding, I have even been a personal trainer for a short while, it just don’t work on myself.

I eat about 3500 calories a day minimum of quality fats, carbs and proteins. I lift properly, my techniques have worked drastically on others. I am very well clued up on natural bodybuilding and have never considered using supplements or learning about them. I thought I might try dabbling into them after so many people report huge gains from them and after failing so many times. I have tried eating every 2 hours, every 3 hours, even continuously.

I am grateful for your replies, don’t get me wrong.

Hey, that is why I asked about the diet. You didn’t give enough information in your initial post to tell what was going on with you which was making it hard for the guys to give meaningful advise.

As far as the body of a WCW wrestler goes you are basically talking steroids for most of them.

>I eat about 3500 calories a day minimum of quality fats, carbs and proteins.

Then that’s not enough for you. Some people need to seriously jack up the calories to gain weight. You seem to be in that category. When you’re eating enough you’ll gain.

If it’s hard for you to get enough calories eating “clean,” don’t bother. It isn’t necessary. Eat enough protein, EFA’s, some fruits and/or vegetables daily, then go for whatever else sounds good and is calorie dense. Ice cream, peanut butter sandwiches, pizza, heaping bowls of pasta, cheeseburgers, chocolate milk, fruit juices, etc. Those are tastier and pack far more calories into smaller space than lean meats, veggies and water.

I agree; I don’t have the genetics at all but I’ve been lifting since I was 12.. It just takes a great deal of time and effort in your diet. I also agree with hobby; you want to gain.. Period. Don’t worry so much about the quality as the quantity until you want to “cut up” and get some veinage. I started eating about 5000 calories per day when I was a junior in high school, and I’m still around 4000 or so now. If you are really that naturally lean, you may want to amp it up to 6000 calories.. More of the size in your muscle is taken up by somatic glycogen (animal starch, carbs) than functional protein. I’m not saying do the Supersize Me diet, but be open to enjoy the fact that you get to wolf down whatever you want to eat, 5-6 times a day! You may gain a fair amount of fat, but fat is much easier to lose than muscle, despite what many people think.

Food is the ultimate anabolic, despite the propaganda in the muscle magazines. Steak, rice, eggs, cottage cheese, peanut butter, bananas, chicken, turkey. Once the diet and training are in order, see a life extension doctor and add some testosterone to the diet and training.

Thanks for all the advice.

What would be really cool, is for some kind of supplement that could lower my stupid metabolism safely, lol.

I use to take Myoplex suppliments for a few months and that blew me up. I gained alot of upper body mass then I stop taking and stop working out for a while and my body size just disappeared. If you eat alot, excerise right it will become routine and you will gain. Dont waste your money.

The perfect 8x6 cock aka the pussy destroyer (one day).

Hardgainers often get great results using the old school routine of 20 rep breathing squats supersetted with breathing pullovers. Check out the book Super Squats by Randall Strossen for an excellent description of this technique. Don’t rely on supplements. Food, hard training, and adequate rest are the keys. Supplements are just what the name suggests. There is no magic bullet.

I hear you on that. When My weight has dropped due to not keeping an eye on it I am looking at 5,000 to 6,000 cal/day to bulk back up.

Try to consume your food in about 3-4 big meals per day, instead of smaller more frequent meals. Eating regular will raise your metabolism.
