Vanadyl Sulpate vs. Vanadium

The problem seems simple enough but I can’t find the answer. I’m working on re-tooling my pre and post workout nutrition (mainly to streamline it to reduce cost and pain in the ass factor) and found a really good-looking multi vitamin (Now’s Adam) that seems to have a decent reputation. I saw that it has 100mcg of Vanadium, which has some connection to Vanadyl Sulphate. My goal is to get 10 mg of Vanadyl Sulphate.

What I’m trying to figure out is:
- What exactly are the connections between these two (just for my own educational curiosity)?
- If I’m taking 100 mcg of Vanadium do I need to supplement with Vanadyl Sulphate to reach the desired 10 mg? If so, how much? (This is assuming that Vanadium is a compound of Vanadyl or vice-versa).

I have a history of blood sugar sensitivity that errs on the hypoglycemic side so I don’t want to overdo it. That said, I’ve been using vanadyl for over a year now with only good results that I can notice.

I’ll keep looking/researching on my own but so far an hour of googling has produced nothing more than a feeling of “yeah, there’s probably a connection but…”

I’ve been researching this a bit more and while my original question is still sort of unanswered it seems that vanadyl is potentially dangerous at the levels needed to be effective. And apparently Chromium Picolinate is crap too. No further opinion on this, really, just an update on where the consensus seems to be headed.

Perhaps this thread and the other one about the discount shit would be more useful in the Bodybuilding forum? I’ll leave it up to the call of whomever of our moderators is reading this right now. No worries either way. Just a thought.

Yeah, that looks good. Been using that too. I’m starting to think that the whole vanadyl/vanadium thing might not be worth the effort. I’m not really in the position, financially, to use stuff that doesn’t have at least a clear majority of positive opinions about it out there. From what I can find it all seems to be about 60/40 leaning towards the negative side. I think I’ll just use what I have left and forget it ever happened. Chromium Picolinate might be the same deal but I want to look into that more.

ALA is in the vitamin I mentioned, which is another reason I like it.

If I had more money to (literally) piss away, like I sort of did a couple years ago, I wouldn’t mind using my body as a testing ground, if only for the placebo effect - which can sometimes be useful in and of itself. I just don’t. So anything that there significant questions about should probably be dropped.

I’d still be interested if anyone has an answer to the original question though.
