Vitamins and supplementation. My assessment of what works well.
I am new here but I felt that a summary of my supplement usage and why I use them could be helpful.
First of all, I am becoming more involved in physical training, coaching and exercise physiology and what I am using helps both in general health and penis health.
If you’re not generally healthy, your penile health will suffer. Plus, many supplements aid with blood flow to the penis.
I’m sure a lot of this has been covered before but hopefully you may find it useful.
I am 48, still fairly athletic and have no major health issues and no ED problems. I was a smoker up until 2 years ago and after quitting, I packed on about 45 pounds. I’ve lost a big chunk of that and am involved in weight training again and started PE around early August of this year.
General supplements I take daily.
Vitamin-D
I cannot stress how important this vitamin is. And we are almost all chronically deficient on this. In the winter I take at least 4000 I.you. Of vitamin-D and in the summer at least 2000 I.you. You can’t overdose on vitamin-D and it makes a huge difference in health. Be certain you are also taking sufficient vitamin-A with the D. But too much A can be harmful so no more than the USRDA
* Vitamin-C Important anti-oxidant 500 mg daily
* Fish oil (krill oil is even better) at least200 mg of DHA and 120 mg of EPA per capsule daily
* CoQ-10(Co-enzyme Q-10) Related to the energy release in the body and an essential heart supplement 100 mg daily
* A good general multi-vitamin
“Male Enhancement Related” supplements I take daily (EDIT: I take these every other day now)
* Horny goat weed- 500 mg daily
* L-Carnitine- 500 mg daily
* Tribulus Terrestris- 300-500 mg daily
* Ashwagandha- 750-1000 mg daily
* Maca- 1000-1300 mg daily
* Saw Palmetto- less than 600 mg daily
* Yohimbe Bark- no more than 400-500 mg daily- can cause anxiety, heart palpitations.
* Avena Sativa- 500-600 mg per day.
* Tongkat Ali- 1500-3000 mg per day.
Now don’t get me wrong; by “male Enhancement supplements” I am not suggesting that these make your penis larger. They do, however, increase blood flow to the penis and can improve erection quality.
Be warned, however, that Yohimbe bark supplements can affect some people adversely so start low with dosage to check your tolerance and build up slowly.

The other biggie on the list is the Tongkat Ali. I take about 1600 mg of this a day and it is very effective. It can boost general mood, increase penile blood flow and is also reportedly capable of spurring a natural increase in testosterone production. I can’t quantify this scientifically in regards to my personal use but it does seem to increase my feelings of competitiveness and aggression (not in a bad, violent way but more in a “youthful” way) and does seem to increase my energy and mood-all signs of testosterone boost.
The above mix of supplements is my daily regime and I can definitely attest to that combination, which took me about 6 months to work out, has improved my EQ, mood and energy.
I am almost 49 years old and while I do not suffer from erectile dysfunctions, the quality of my erections has decreased over the last few years—-not unusual considering my age and my 28 year history of smoking.
However, if I take these supplements within 30 minutes of waking up, my morning erection is tremendous and as hard as it would be using an ED med such as Viagra.
I also walk around in a state of slight semi-erection most of the day-nothing embarrassing; I can just feel that I am slightly engorged.
This, I’m certain, is how companies selling male enhancement pills initially fool their customers into believing they have experienced penis growth…they walk around with semi-stiffies and experience full erections-possibly for the first time in years. This makes them feel “bigger” though they are just experiencing erection like they did when they were teens.
This supplementation works for me and it could probably work for you too. My goal was improving health and first, penile health second.
If you are overweight, eat a diet high in sugars and saturated fats and don’t exercise and take care of yourself, all the supplementation and PE in the world won’t help.
The dosages above (with the exception of the vitamin-D which I recommend to EVERYBODY) are what work for me. You can experiment with different supplements and dosages to see what works for you.
I hope this has been helpful.
