Chest Hair Removal

Hi ,

Im overally hairy around my chest area , what could i do to remove it. Waxing is very painful and laser is expensive at the moment. Ive used a clipper but the hair is like stubble now. Any ideas?

Magic Shaving Powder?

The more you wax the less painful it is. Most, if not all, forms of hair removal that give you some time without stubble are painful.

Hi jabz,

I had laser removal done but still wax to get rid of the smaller fine hairs, I barely even feel any sensation at all with the waxing now, and there is very little in the way of bumps and ingrown hair, maybe one each time (bump that is).

Go and talk to to one of the laser places, see if they will offer you a deal, I got mine at half price. But if they do make sure you get the most for your money afterwards, I made sure they did the entire area each time rather than just the bits they thought needed doing, and I also pushed their schedule out a couple of weeks each visit to ensure full regrowth was treated each time.

Do a search here for discussions of guys using it. It is a super cheep powder that comes in a can. You mix some with water to make a paste; then smear it on the area where the hair is. Let it set for 10-15 minutes then scrape it off in the shower with a spatula. The hair comes off with it.

So it’s kind of like Nair or whatever - it burns the hair and the hair returns as usual in about a few days?

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

It is a much weakened version of Nair that you can use on your face and/or junk. (Do NOT use Nair on your junk!). It loosens the hair and then dries into something like plaster. When you scrape it off it takes the loosened hair with it. It is super cheep and probably worth a try for what you want.

Sounds good, Nair is hit and miss with male hair, at least what I’ve noticed. How long does it take for the Magic stuff to set?

Laser isn’t expensive anymore. Have you truely looked into it? Go to groupon.com. You can find full packages for $99 (6 treatments, ok maybe more for the chest). I tried shaving, hate it when it grows back though and got the red bumps. I actually just trim my chest now with an electric razor, but I’ve done the laser everywhere below and I swear by it. I may end up doing my chest soon too though because it’s been such a success. The amount I paid for laser is less than I’d spend on razors for a year. Seriously at $3-4/razor plus shaving cream plus the time, it adds up fast.

Have you had to do arms and back too? I have a lot of hair in nasty places. I can see it being expensive. But thanks for the tip on Groupon.

Was this full body or upper body? How much was it?

Laser is actually probably the cheapest long term method of any right now. Just go to groupon.com and find a package there. They usually start as low as $99 for six treatments (chest may run a little more). That’s probably what I used to spend annually on razors alone. There’s no equal to laser.

I can’t remember how much it cost to tell you the truth, I originally went in just for chest and belly and was so happy after the first visit that I booked in for back as well. the hair on my arms was too fair and fine for laser to work and I am still left with some fine hair on my upper body but it is a vast improvement on what was there (not that I was overly hairy anyway). I’m glad I got it done before it turned grey too, I just love the clean smooth look that it gives.
